This weather?!?!

I know I shouldn't complain but went to the range this morning for a couple of buckets then some putting
Had to stop numerous times for sweat running into the sunglasses and couldn't putt for more than 10 minutes, the heat and humidity are just a bit silly today,
mid 30's and no wind means its impossible to stay cool and the still air means it's no cooler in the clubhouse
Oi! You (or at least your country of residence) are already in the bad books for the two extra public holidays added recently. Wanna share with the forum what they were for? 😉

Four public holidays in the last 6 weeks!
It's been a really bad year for them, never seen so many, we're up to about 18 so far

I hate them because I have to pay double pay to the guys and extra ones this year for election and to celebrate Indian ocean games blah blah, how did they bug you?

Given the rain again yesterday and today still in very good condition and no trolley ban. Greens still quick for time of year and only the bunkers suffering a bit. Pouring down again now so tough going in the morning. There's no carry and as a short hitter its playing very long off the whites

Met Officer app and BBC weather app saying dry tomorrow so expecting to need waterproofs. That said the Met Office app said heavy showers around 10.00 (correct) and the persistent rain from 11.00 (also correct). However it also said light rain this evening and bucketing down outside. I know I am lucky where I am compared to so many but the water tables here are so full and more rain forecast again this week. Surely one of the wettest November's on record?

Sat Comp abandoned today even as we have moved to the most exceptional local Winter Rules ever........ allowing a free drop in the 'general area' for balls that are not found due to the current exceptional conditions.
Meanwhile at Seaton last Wed I removed my trolley hedge-hogs to play a mud-free round though mats on fairways in force as they are working hard to improve the course. Really getting good value from my Country-membership up there.

Was hoping to play for first time in 21 days tomorrow and has been bucketing down for last couple of hours - not looking good 😕

[Slab I'll PM you]

I've been looking out to see which UK party is planning to offer public holidays for elections - could be a vote winner! 😉👍

No rain from Monday to Thursday and so our back 9 opened for the first time in weeks. Bit of rain Friday and Saturday but full 18 still open.

Just woke up ready for today’s comp - back 9 closed due to overnight rain. This bloody country!

We're dry at present, 1137 tee time, just enough time to get round 18 although I guess their will be a lot of winter league games out today so it will be blooming well slow no doubt.

Really grey and misty all morning to the point where it was hard to follow the ball once airborne. Playable though especially after another overnight deluge. As soon as we got into the bar the sun came out and a glorious afternoon. Raining again now

No rain at Woodhall Spa today, greens & fairways very good, some short holes but with no run still a good test, bunkers as troublesome as ever.

Poor front 9 (12) but solid back 9 (18) but lost my Matchplay pairs match against friends I took over, I thought guests should allow you to win 🤔

😏

My home (Coventry) course is struggling with the river bursting it banks consistently closing 9 holes 🙁

Got 18 holes in. A couple of holes of drizzle, not enough to get the waterproofs on - just as well as I left mine in the car!

Course was decent. My golf was inconsistent but it was fresh air and exercise.

Have to admit leaving the UK for warmer climes these last 5 years makes you appreciate how short the golfing seasons are back there. I definitely don’t miss the going back to winter tees, mud, plugged balls etc...will caveat that you also can’t beat the those rare days in the June l/July months in the Uk when you can still be on the course at 2130.
