So I've had a pretty wicked driver slice ever since time began. I read this article today where statistics showed that a higher tee is the best option for when you break out your driver. I love statistical proof (I work in digital marketing!) and decided to try this on the course.

I was pinging drives straight down the middle of every fairway and I was hitting further than I have for a long time. This was literally the only change I made by raising my tee by 1cm.

Cured!!!!!

Wish I known this 3 hrs ago, just spent £180 on a new driver to cure my slice..

i dunno i seem to play a better drive using a smaller white castle tee as apose to the pink ones i have just stopped using. And when i try the grey ones all i do is sky it, so yes it goes straight the article is right but straight up in the air haha

I've promoted myself from pink to orange... kept catching them a little low on the face with the pink. Can't stand the grey ones as I can never find 'em.

the distance is in carry not overall,
i would expect drives teed down to carry less but would have roll much further

still going to give it a try though

The only common info a have received from a multiple amount of pros is that a lower height too promotes a steeper swing which has more chance in producing a fade, where as a higher tee promotes a flatter swing to hit on the up which has more chance of a draw...

I have plyed about with tees recently, I always used the old fashioned type but decided I wasnt getting a consistant height. I tried the yellow castle ones and was getting too much heinght so am now using the white ones, which seem to give the most consistancy for me.

How do you rate the DXI driver ?

I have considered trying this soon

I tried a higher tee and found I was always hitting out of the top of the face. Not skying it but the amount of spin was horrendous.

I tee it much lower now and hit it out if the middle(.....ish).

I used to fade it with a high tee, I still fade it with a low tee. I'm with Bob on this

Glad it worked for you !

I've noticed more and more people at my club , and the pro's on tv are teeing the ball much lower these days. Most instruction normally tells you that the 50% of the ball should be above the driver face and 50% beneath it........
