Three games in two months, moving house, and relocating the business are not good pre-requisits to a good game of golf.
Played my third game last weekend after the changes to my swing. You might be aware of a 6 hour lesson I had with James, and the change to a bit of S&T!
First two games went very well, second one producing 66% FIR, which is well above my average. But last weekend the wheels well and truely came off.
The driver and 3 wood were okay, but I could hardly hit a mid iron for toffee. A lot were shanked and if they weren't I was fatting them, or a combination of both.
Admittedly I wasn't concentrating on the game, as I had a lot of stuff going on in my head outside of the golf. but even so.
No video I'm afraid, but I have a feeling that I was letting my weight come onto my right side at impact. Not what I was taught at all. There were a few really great shots, but overall the mid irons stank.
As to the technique. I'm still sticking with it, when I can get my body to do it properly!
But despite everything, I still wasn't slicing them as I used to, so a bit of light at the end of the tunnel!
The good bits. The putting was good, once I threw the rock that I was using away after three holes. Couldn't putt with that thing! The wedges were generally well behaved, and the driver, and 3 wood, were okay. It's just the damn mid irons!
Time to set up the net at home I think.
