I'll start with..

1) What is the point of the B final in rowing when the best you can achieve is 7th place?

2) Why in Judo, if you get knocked out at the quarter final stage, do you still get a chance to win a bronze medal? Essentially what seems to happen is the losing quarter finalists play each other, the two winners then go on to play the two losing semi finalists and the winners of both those matches both get a bronze medal which means the losing semi finalists could end up with nothing :confused:

Any more?

1) 7th in the world is still a magnificent achievement.

2) Similar, I guess, to Football league play-offs where a higher placed club can still lose out on promotion.

Yeah, but the FA have pretty much as said that the play-offs are a moneymaking scheme.
Could be worse, could be like the KNVB Eredivise play-off system... now that's a noodle twister.

Same system operates at the non-league level I play at. Definitely no money to be made there! :)

Olympic highways :confused::angry:....

In particular the cone 'chicane' just ahead of the eastbound tunnel at Hanger Lane on the Western Ave [A40]....

Caused me no end of grief this past few weeks...

Good job I take my beta blocker just ahead of leaving for work...

Otherwise it might just of got 'messy' on more than one occassion...

But is anyone gonna remember who came 7th?

The playoffs are different. Firt, it is to make money and second, it is a league, not a knockout
