My wife went away on Friday morning on a trip to Ireland for a friend's birthday. First time I've had our baby on my own for an entire weekend. Friday was easy, she goes to nursery all day so I played golf and just had her in the evening.
Saturday I took her to my parents for the day just to make it more fun (hard to fill a day for a ten month old!) She was good as gold all day, my parents love seeing her. Then about an hour after her dinner (some beef stew packet thing) she chundered it all back up! Chunks all over her clothes, the high chair, carnage. We clean it all up between us (high chair is a bloody nightmare to clean by the way). I get her changed and ready to go home - give her a milk before we go (plan is for her to fall asleep in the car and I transfer her straight into bed). Just as I'm about to set off again she pukes all the milk back up, so I have to bring the car seat and everything back in the house to clean her up again. Poor little girl! Eventually we get back and she does go to sleep. She wakes in the middle of the night - hungry no doubt since she's chucked everything up. I give her a milk and that comes back up as well (at 4am) and I'm on my own this time.
Today the plan was going to be that she goes to my in-laws for the afternoon so I could have some time to myself, but I couldn't do that to them since I didn't know if she would be chundering again. So we had the entire day to ourselves. I only fed her milk and small portions of fruit smoothies basically but she managed to keep it all down. As I mentioned it's kinda hard to fill a day with such a young baby, but we watched some of her favourite cartoons, played with her toys, went for a walk etc.
Stressful but ultimately, the baby is still alive so I'm reflecting and feeling proud of myself for passing this great parenting test. How the hell do single parents do this all the time? New level of respect from me.

It cleared up round about 1:15pm, though I’m not too sure on that as I wasn‘t clock watching. And yes the weather was awful to start with and as I took the ‘front of house’ part of standing out of the shelter of our gazebo I got thoroughly soaked. Got really busy. And the market is indeed an excellent event. Many folks parked in the station car park and walked the short distance in rather than trying to park in the town centre.
I've now woken up with a stomach pain and feeling nauseous so I've probably caught the bug myself now. Damn.

Went to get my hair cut this pm…the French lad is well gone and it’s either of the Algerian and the Jordanian lads who cut it (have really interesting conversations about their homelands with both).

We plan to have a second and I know it's going to be a totally different ball game then.This, I had both our kids (2.5yr old girl and a 9 month old lad) for a full weekend the other week whilst the good lady had a well deserved trip down to London with her pals.
Unlike yours, both kids were absolutely good as gold and we had a great weekend together - so much so that I was thinking to myself "I don't know why she's always so tired this is an absolute breeze".
As soon as she got home we got the kids bathed and ready for bed together - the adrenaline or whatever i was running on wore off and I ended up falling asleep before the 2yr old at about 6:45pm and slept fully clothed until 7am the next day
