Things I hate

Tee boxes strewn with broken tees. Either have the wee tee bins to put them in or put it in your pocket and bin them later.

Apart from that - bullies and liars

No golf trousers in my size (fat arse and short legs) during the sales.

Since the only things that typically aren't available in sales are the ones that are already sold out due to high demand, your body shape must be quite common where you live...;)

Un-repaired pitch-marks. Especially those that are within 6 feet of the hole. There is just no excuse for not repairing them when they are that close to the hole.

But how is the flight behind you supposed to know how close you hit your approach if you erase the only visible evidence - the pitch mark?

Coming into the clubhouse only to here guys saying they shot a 66 and say they were striking it well only to find out that they actually had a gross 81 less handicap.

Coming into the clubhouse and hearing that a really good golfer has shot a gross 81 including his 6 handicap. Always makes me laugh does that one.

That made me laugh. I came to golf after other sports so whilst I appreciate the handicap system I do not let it cloud my judgement on my own performance. Good is good, bad is bad. Bad should not be good in terms of scores. If someone asks my score I tend to avoid the question first off, but if they insist I tell them my gross score and then nett. I have no wish to trick someone into thinking I am a top golfer when my gross scores say otherwise. People who do this are conning themselves and everyone else. Stableford is a different matter but for strokeplay, be honest.
