Nick is right, you were still 40 yards behind my one decent drive in two. You are not the first person to struggle to get their second shot past one of my Rory drives.

A long drive followed by a 4w still behind your drive :D - have you finally hit forum yardages :whoo:

As people are blowing their own trumpets, I would just like to point out that I won longest drive at Royal Porthcawl yesterday

Hmm, I remember it very differently on the 15th, your drive was slightly in front of my drive I admit but my 2nd shot rolled past where your second shot came to rest, there was no way on Gods earth I was behind you after a drive and my 4w as I nailed them both on that hole with the OOB all down the right hand side, you're 'aving a bubble, I know you're knocking on a bit now but it was only yesterday

The hole with the OB all down the right is the 14th. Par 5, stroke index 13. Stroke index 1 is the 15th par 4 with the bunker at the front. The one you said you could never get out off, and then put it 10 feet from the pin. Nick wasn't sure which hole stroke index 1 was, but it is not the 14th.

I will accept a full written apology for the ageist remark.:p

SI 1 is the par four before that great little par 3 - it had the pin in a very nasty place at the front

So I think it's 15th and we saw what looked like Fish hitting his drive into the clag not far from the tee

Right, I duffed my tee shot then had to take only an 8i out the cabbage so it's not surprising you were in front of me in 2 (or actually 3), but then everyone was, I then took a solid 4w as my 3rd shot but caught that long slit of a bunker in front of the green and thought I was toast as it was pretty close to the front edge, it caught the top lip as well otherwise it would have made the green, but I still managed to get it up and out and onto the green after your encouragement saying that I'd get it out ok, I just missed the single putt but still walked off with a nett par :D

Classic scrambling :smirk:

6 for 2  ;)

I marked that one on the card with joy in my heart.

Was it the same warm feeling for the next 2 gross pars also and I only just lipped the putt on the 18th to finish with a 3 par run in, especially with you being 1 up at the time after the 15th. 😎🏌⛳️

I'm framing that .10p 😂😂

I did forget to say don't spend it all at once.:)

Losing after being one up with three to play, still seems like a result after last year, when five up at the turn, and finishing all square. Not sure if Therod mentioned that at all.
