I just got back from the range and the new grip is now starting to feel a little more natural. Starting to hit the ball straight and reasonably long.

Started to feel confident so put the 7 iron down and picked up the bro in laws driver, just to see how it felt. immediatly in the hands it felt ok, and i felt i was able to get the whole body in a better set up posistion than with the old grip.

First shot i couldnt beleive, straight as an arrow, good launch angle and a distance of about 200 yards. Problem is, it was similar to the driver i sold because i couldnt use it. I am yet to try my own out. (waste of £270?)

Considerin i have only been playing left hand at the top for 6 days i was really chuffed with tonights session.

I even managed to use the 60* lob wedge better than i ever have, 4 out of 6 shots into the water trap at 60 yards.

Cheers guys for giving me the advice and making me stick with it, i can now see why i should of done this to start with.

I did do some vids which i will put up soon, but i noticed i was over swinging and stuff so can work on that tommorow! Cant wait to show my pro on wed!

Congrats.

Now the hard work starts!!! Its all about keeping with it now and getting use to the new grip and working on the swing until it is second nature. Don't be in a hurry and remember you will have more bad days than good. Sadly that is the nature of this game.

I'd leave the drive alone for a while and get use to using shorter irons. When I am implementing swing changes I normally use a 7 iron to start with and then build up to hitting 5 irons. Once I feel I am getting results with the 5 I'll use longer clubs like a hybrid or 5 wood. If it starts going wrong I'll go back to the 7 and work back up.

Keep going. You are doing great

Excellent Tony, one thing to remember is that you have only changed your hands, imagine if you had to change from left handed clubs to right handed etc, that might help keep the inspiration fresh too. Dont let your mind think that you have changed something essential to hitting a better ball, you havent, you have just improved on what you already have.

you know what brendy, i never thought of it that way. I was worried it was gonna take months to get to the level i was at last week, but i think it wont be too long at all. The swing isnt too bad, a bit of over swing tonight but i can cure that tommorow. I really cannot wait to get back the range now... i dont think al sleep tonight!
