Well, gents. It's over and done with. The Americans won without their star. I don't think the American golfing public will attach too much importance to this match. Roll on April! Augusta! Woods in action. I think Harrington or Westwood could do it. I can see any two of the three coming up the 18th with one shot in it. That's golf!

Both Harrington and Westy will need to turn up with a golf game unlike the ones they had this weekend......Paddy was dire and has a terrible cup record over his last 2 appearances.

World matchplay - no thanks. Can't see Spain being an improvement on Wentworth and that was dire - last day, 36 holes with only 2 players made for desperately slow viewing even when the guys were playing well. No-one gave a stuff about 3rd/4th match, just there to try and alleviate the tedium a little.
When half of the world's best players don't even turn up it's even more pointless.
