The POSITIVE thing about lockdown is...

went down to our local Morrisons. it has a lot of shoppers... But if you look closely, it is Morrisons employees picking stuff for Amazon deliveries. I like the fact that Morrisons is using local shops for fulfilment rather than some big box delivery centre 100s of miles away..

I started using Morrison’s delivery in July and it’s been great. Usually got a slot once a week until a few weeks ago.

Ordered with Amazon and got it in an hour and a half!
Not as much choice, not as good as ordering from the Morrison’s app but very handy.

Looks like I will get off my butt and order a light carry bag. I've been thinking about it for a while, especially during the winter months. Just need to decide weather to go really light (mizuno k1-lo/sun mountain 2.5+) or something a little heavier like Ping Hoofer lite.

This caught my eye in the local shop lately, looks really good.
I think this one fits into the pencil bag category. The weight is about the same as the Ping craz e lite/Mizuno K1-lo/Sun Mountain 2.5+. Some people have complained about having to bend too far to pick this one up....I don't see that as an issue. I am planning on carrying about 12 clubs, but I am using Jumbo (x-small....but still big) grips and I don't think they would fit in this sized bag. The 3 mentioned above all have 9+inch opening at the top. A guy I play with has a pencil bag, even though he is older he has gone to a slightly larger carry bag for the extra room. I'd love to be able to just go somewhere and directly see/hold all of these bags.....even the pencil sized ones.

Looks neat.

However the name...'Quiver' Do TM not know that one way to identify a golfer who has hardly played the game is in the way he carries his bag. If he carries it 'vertically' or near the vertical like a quiver (of arrows) then he identifies him to me as a complete newbie - it is just the wrong way to carry a bag of golf clubs :)

Bought back the weekly Facetime quiz/bingo night, good for bringing people together that we moved away from. Upto 16 people spread over various households, happy days :)

Brought a TV lead, so hopefully be able to see people better.

Would 12 clubs and their jumbo (ish) grips fit?

I remember starting as a kid with a pencil bag and a half set which fitted fine but as soon as I added a couple of extra ones it became tough getting them in and out. I agree though it would be great to see these bags and it seems a bit of a punt. I think I'd go for a more conventional but lightweight model carry bag and be certain the clubs are easily accessible

Yep...planning small/light but not pencil bag sized. As I stated above......I'm iffy on whether I could get 12 clubs with large grips in a pencil bag.

After a little more research.....at least through Snainton......the Sun Mountain 2.5+ won't come out until Jan so that kind of crosses them off the list. K1-lo or Ping I guess. There are a couple more on the list though.....I'm just looking at bags that are 2kilo or less.

Found some dimensions for the Quiver bag finally. Less than 8 inches at the opening where a normal light weight bag is about 9.5? inches. Reviews seem to think you can get all of your clubs in.....although I don't think they tried it with Jumbo grips.

Although...for an experiment.....I like that it only costs £79

Is there a historic right way to carry a golf bag then?

One of the blokes I play with carries it like this and he's definitely not newbie. You can always spot him easily as a result.

Yes!! Balanced across back your is better than vertical!

Equally, we ran a team golf day on the local par 3 hole course. Many folk had never played before.

Half way round one guy mentioned how difficult it was to identify which club was which and getting them out of the bag was hard... he'd been putting them back "heads first!"
