Careful with common sense some in here don’t like alternative arguments to their internal opinions they post as FACTS

It absolutely will not affect anyone's enjoyment. This narrative is just scaremongering drivel peddled by equipment manufacturers who have been using distance as their primary promotional tool for 30 years.

Courses cannot keep being modified and extended to the detriment of the environment and the challenge they present in order to pander to self-interested OEMs.

The fact you are talking about scoring (and citing one of the worst holes in all of golf) demonstrates how little you understand the issues.

And you just regurgitate the golf authorities take on things and dismiss any alternative opinions. Generally with selective editing of those opinions to suit your agenda.
