The Open - how is it for you

Home alone, sitting on my corner suite drinking cups of tea, not missing second of coverage. Doesn't get any better.
Don't you just love shift work?

NO!!!!

Cause am on a four on/off shift and just started today!!!!

Finish each day at 7pm

No luck Stuart i would have been in the middle of my four on but am holiday for 20 days so sat on my hoop watching Rory make a charge.

Dawson (R&A) was saying this morning that he was expecting low scores, but this is looking a bit silly, down to 64th to find anyone over par.

Is the course benign today or are they playing well?

Just got back from the gym and catching up on coverage. Daly was top when I left but looks like he's dropped a shot.

Still a great effort.

But Rory is destroying the back 9.

The wind needs to get up otherwise they're going to take the Old Girl apart. Rory's burning it up and there's a Tiger on the prowl.......
Good to see Big John and Andy Coltart doing well.

Rory's in with a record-equalling 63. According to the Beeb, that's the lowest ever first round in the Open and the joint lowest round in any major.

can't be record equalling as it's a new course, but it's a hell of a good score for the initial record on a new course.

at last someone for the home crowd to cheer, Colthart did good, hope he keeps it up. (see it's not ABS)

shades of Rose here? Jeong 6 under as an amateur

Not sure how I want Tiger to get on in this.

On one hand he is a total arse, but on the other hand there is an atmosphere about the place when he's in contention that you don't otherwise get.

I don't think he's going to win so I'm OK if he's in contention; as you say it adds a buzz.

I'd really like one of ours to win, whether he be English, Scot, Irish or (even) Welsh :p, but above all, a good tight finish - no runaway winners.

Tiger Woods drives into the valley of sin at the 18th.... you couldn't make it up!

C'mon rory. If he wins, i win, and the winnings go towards new clubs :)

What is it they say. Beware the injured golfer.

If he's swinging well within himself, might be the right tactic for the course.
