The Masters 2026

I know it's the first Major of the year
I know it's Augusta
I appreciate that the course isn't playing as easy as it could...

But there's still some rank bad golf being played out there..

And I also appreciate that I'd be well into 3 figures playing there......but then I'm not in the top 50....

And that is the difference between Hatton and Bob. Hatton can be exceptionally boorish on the course, but he clearly KNOWS that, and acknowledges it in post round interviews, invariably with a smile as he does so. MacIntyre is the complete opposite.

It grinds my gears when it is pointed out to me “But this is his livelihood blah, blah”. I get that. But if the field was full of Bob MacIntyres every week I would never turn the TV on, or pay my hard earned to go to Wentworth and other events every year, as I do. And if everyone adopted the same approach, Bob MacIntyre would not earn a penny from his God given talent to hit a golf ball.

So he had a bad hole which contributed to a crap round. It happens. Get over it.
Couldn’t agree more with this.
Too many people make excuses for such behaviour (just blowing off steam, nice to have ‘characters’ in the game, just showing his ‘personality’ etc. etc,) if the field was all like him then it’d terrible watch, which means he gets away with it on a regular basis because others have the decency to show some self restraint. It’s ok for him because others show some respect which means he doesn’t have to. Very, very selfish.

Looks to me like later starters are really going to have their work cut out to score well. Greens look especially tricky at the moment

Why greens esp tricky? Is it especially hot? Will it firm up in the day?

Why is that? I haven’t watched too much yet and I’ve been - and am - at work so haven’t the ability to follow it closely

Windy? Baked out? More than usual?

Yeah I know, crazy isn’t it 🤣.
Maybe I felt sorry for a person I like a lot having 3 holes that destroyed his competition.

Whatever the reason I did feel sorry for him

Apologies, I read sorry as pity for his longest iron being a 7 :ROFLMAO:

I too felt for him after a cracking round up u too those few bad holes. Going ok today so far…

I don’t care what clubs anyone plays.
In fact the more unusual/different the more interesting.
I think him playing well today makes the 3 holes yesterday even worse.
Now I’m feeling sorry for him all over again, thanks for bringing up those feelings again 😪🤣

They look really firm and dry. Apparently they've had a very dry spring. A lot of short putts being missed. No wind today at all today, I can't imagine they will be get easier for later starters, but there's a few in the top 20 who have managed to get under par. I suspect scores on par 5s are going to be all the more important.

I switched for SKY last year via a dish to NOW TV this year.

I have noticed a big difference in colour intensity.

Is it the different viewing platform or is Augusta looking very pale and washed out this year?

It's pretty much what happened yesterday. They mentioned early on yesterday that the greens looked crusty (horrible word but it describes it). If they are like that early they will only get trickier as it's warm.

They presumably want a low score this year as they have massive control over how those greens are. How they are is deliberate (stating the obvious but there you go 😄)

Did you see Penge approach to 15 yesterday. That’s gives an idea of how it’s playing, hits a 9 iron from 190yds, when I landed on the green it bounced six feet up in the air and then bounced on through the green.
