one of the best things about his win, is now he can remove all those demons on his shoulder. All the folk who said he’d never win Augusta, he was finished, he chokes, he’d never get the grand slam, etc. that’s got to be so mentally and emotionally freeing.

Laura Davis just more or less said the same thing - and I totally agree - those short wedges and puts won't be so long any more - been there, done it all now.

Amazing tournament and amazing win for Rory. What we learned today is that he can’t play boring, defensive golf. When he was in attack mode he hit some unbelievable shots.

The mental resilience to come back out and win that playoff, unreal.

Also, my £10 win on Rory for every Major finally pays off. He still owes me, so he better win more.

That was a Masters tournament for the ages! Some sublime shots and a fair few awful ones, and drama from the 1st hole to the last. Not to mention yesterday as well. Sorry for Justin Rose, a true and valiant sportsman, but delighted for Rory. Just brilliant.

Faldo said in the buildup that if he won today it puts him at the top as the Grand Slam is so hard to do.

I don’t recall a better Masters in my lifetime, I’ve been a Rory fan since the 2010 Ryder Cup, and I thought he’d blown it a couple of times today, especially going into the play-off! Absolutely buzzing for him, I felt sick at times but so happy he’s got over the line.

Agree with the others that have said Bryson falling away didn’t help as he took his foot off the gas.
