The Masters 2025

If MacIntyre has a good week then you never know.. would love to see him do it but I think he might be more suited to Portrush.

Scheffler, Aberg, Morikawa, Thomas, Hovland, Schauffele will be there or thereabouts. Not sure about Rahm, Koepka, Niemann etc as haven't seen them since the last major.

As much as I'd love to see Rory do it - just not sure he will.

To be honest, apart from the old boys out for a jolly, virtually everyone who tees it up at The Masters is in with a chance if they have a good week...and you'll need a good week to win it...and a bit of luck along the way.

Rory is 6/1 - so if YGT stake 10% of any early holiday payments on him winning, they’ll cover over half of any potential losses.
It looks like it’s credit to a future booking as well, so the balance of any costs they may incur won’t hit them for some time.
They’ll have done the sums based on increasing cashflow and the savings they can make there, against any payouts they encounter I’m sure

Interesting from Hovland:

"Some of the shots that I'm hitting, it's going to make it really difficult for me to be in contention at Augusta," he admitted.

"You're going to hit so many long irons into par-four holes and you've got to drive it pretty far because the fairways are pretty wide.

"It's more of a bomber's paradise versus this place (Copperhead in Tampa) where it's more just about being precise off the tee.

"So there's still some things that I need to improve, but luckily we've got two weeks and this is certainly nice to have in the back of my mind leading up to Augusta."

I did hear him say that and I had a little smile. I'm not sure the upper echelons of Augusta National will approve of their course being described as a bomber's paradise 🤭. Do you think Viktor might get uninvited? 😄
He prob isn’t far off - They have spent fortunes making it longer to try and make the scores as tough as possible

I cant wait for the masters, our swindle are having an away day with a stay over, 20 of us. The golf will be on in the spike bar of the club.

It would have been much easier if they'd specified a one ball rule and paid one of the manufacturers to produce a 90% ball for their competition. ;)
I've just seen a FB clip of Anthony Kim with Rick Shiels. He was talking about how much distance he lost when he signed with Nike and had to use their ball. I think he said he lost 28 yds off the tee 😳. Just get the specs for that ball and hand them out 🤣. It really is a simple answer to the problem (not necessarily the Nike ball but any equivalent).

Make them play range balls, used ones for that. Or lake balls, lucky dip ;-)

Never been to Augusta, but I think from seeing areal shots that there is no scope to buying any unbuild and adjacent land to make any more holes a single yard longer?

Hope Rory does it, but someone said it already, we’re here every year.

Best case is he is fighting for 2nd and whoever is leading does a Spieth like when Willet won it.

I don't know if there is space to lengthen further but I tend to think that is lazy design. Adding a bit, adding a bit, where does it end? Taking a few dimples off the pro ball, reduce the aerodynamics of the ball, easy as pie and
is far cheaper and more practical than buying land, rebuilding and redesigning holes.
