I've never seen the point of these complaints. Forums are full of moans along with the advice and the positives. It is how they work. If there are threads that don't appeal then don't go on them. Very easy to avoid ones you don't like, don't click the button. I do it all the time. No one forces people to read about Article 50, the football thread, annoying commentators, the annual Sky v BBC coverage etc, you choose to go on them.
As for the rose tinted glasses of 'the forum is not as good as it used to be', I think that started with Punch back in the 19th C and became a running joke in Viz. Move on, you will be complaining about music having not having a melody any more.
