I think you are totally correct sir and I think if my team had done what Arsenal have done in previous seasons then I expect I would be in the win at all cost camp.

Any team that has the lead generally slow the game down.
If I was the Brighton manager I would be questioning the officials rather than the opposition if I was unhappy with it

Yes why football is so against having a timekeeper baffles me as it would sort this problem.
On the set pieces far to many teams worked out a low block makes them very hard to beat!
So teams adapt their tactics to score at set pieces and all the managers complain there using boring tactics.
Who’s fault is that?
It’s made the game boring to watch until a throw in or corner then there is basically a WWE royal rumble in the penalty area.
After two games it just looks like a disastrous appointment. His approach and demeanour just seem all wrong for a manager who is trying to galvanise a side in trouble.

How is it any different to a team trying to hold a lead by keeping possession and passing the ball bavkwards and forwards across the back and involving their keeper?
All teams waste time, or cheat, it’s part of the game, always has been, always will be.

Brighton lost the game but arsenal were absolutely disgusting in the way they played the ref.
Time wasting is usually done towards the end of the game but then ,nooooo as soon as a deflection gives them a goal after nine minutes they were straight into it.
Why did Raya go down feigning Injury three times when each time there wasn't a Brighton player near him .oh was it because they were being played off the park at those times and arteta says go down ,and each time the team rush to to touchline to get instructions for them to play .
They are very predictable at the moment and it's about time the clock was stopped and taken away from the ref ,it would certainly make the time wasting stop that's for sure. ,but if they did that the keeper would go down again just to get his side to break up the opposition rhythm, ok so book him when he does it . Soon put a stop to it ,same for any outfield player who decides he's been struck by lightning it is back in his feet as soon as the physio has given enough time for a team get together on the touchline .book him and then make him stand on his byeline for two minutes so no off side could be called against the opposition.

I criticized Joelintons "argy bargy" approach to putting himself about a few weeks ago....ever since then he has actually been immense, but I still feel that he has as much chance of missing games for discipline issues (see his sarcy clapping of the correct decision to book him for a pull last night) as he has games where he looks a world beater.
I've long held that Bruno Guimares isnt the god like player many of my fellow supporters seem to think....sometimes he is slow, dallies on the ball in midfield, unaware of closing players around him and finds himself robbed of the ball in his own half. Yes there is that stupid stat about how we don't win when he doesnt play.
I wouldnt be surprised if, to help maintain good future PSR status, we didn't accept an offer for one or the other in the summer. I'd happily see Anderson as a replacement for either. Also...although I dont like his whingy petulant nature, I thought Fernandez's little dinked balls into our box last night were wonderful....like a surgeon opening up a patient for surgery....that is something we dont really have.
But you are right to say that there are more important positions to fill.....a dedicated out and out striker, a proper right winger, another left back as cover for Livramento (its plain that Trippier's best days are behind him...its painful to watch as he has all the acceleration of a Maersk container ship as he tries to catch a player who has just waltzed straight past him....look how often he now resorts to a pull on the shoulder), quality cover for Hall (surely a shoe in for the World Cup squad this summer) at right back; two maybe even three, central defensive players - Schar, Krafth and Burn are now well into their 30's and if the club is to compete on multiple fronts we need depth in that area. Finally, a truly world class keeper wouldnt go amiss.
The other thing that needs to really start to produce is the academy and the reserves....need more players making their way through the "age-group" squads into the first team squad.
Still....I, for the time being (i.e. until Saturday) will wallow happily in the sunshine of last nights win and if folk think I only "find my log-in details" when we win, then they clearly dont read much of what i write here
(not that I blame them)....I can be as critical and doom laden when we lose/underperform....but I will rarely write about something that I haven't actually seen.

When he was brought in for the last 8 games of last season though, he won 5, drew 3 and lost 1. Granted he had a better team at his disposal, but the Spurs board would have been delighted with that sort of impact.
Tonight's game is must-win, there are no two ways about it. If we lose that it puts way too much pressure on the home game against Forest on the 22nd. They could be above us by then. In our last four games we have Chelsea and Villa away, which are likely to be defeats so can't leave it too late.
Saw a caption a couple of days ago detailing your remaining ten games which showed the results Spurs achieved in those games last season. They lost nine of them and won just one.
They’ve already replicated the Fulham result. And don’t be surprised if they lose tonight, because Palace won the fixture last season.
I genuinely think West Ham and Forest will pick up a few points here and there. I fear for Spurs, I really do.

I don't think last season's result is indicative of anything. We have a different manager to last season, half the teams we'll be playing against probably also have different managers. Last season Liverpool beat Wolves and Bournemouth away - they've lost both of those this year though. It literally doesn't tell you anything. We may have lost the home game against Palace last season, but we have beaten them more recently than that since we beat them away in December.
Obviously we may lose these games simply because we're rubbish, but it's nothing to do with losing the same fixture last season.

Keeper is the obvious area you need to buy for me. Pickford has kept us in the league in past seasons, has saved us so many points. You need an equivalent, it would be worth it. (you can't have Jordan by the way

Keeper is the obvious area you need to buy for me. Pickford has kept us in the league in past seasons, has saved us so many points. You need an equivalent, it would be worth it. (you can't have Jordan by the way

They’re changing the rules on goal kicks etc to try to quicken the game .
Just put a time keeper there and stop changing the rules .
Offside by the corner flag used to be flagged but times change.
