He seems to me to be a player who thinks he has made it because he got a transfer to a big club.

In truth the easy bit is getting the transfer the hard bit is being good enough to play regularly and stay at the club, that’s when the real hard work starts.

He was great for Ipswich last year, really worked hard and whatever the result his opposing defenders knew they had been in a game, he looks like a totally different player now and most defenders would be happy to see him on the Chelsea team sheet, hope he can turn it around.

You’re correct about last year and Ipswich, but doesn’t that come down to him being the focal point and virtually all their forward play being centred around him? At times he looked excellent.

When you have the players at Clubs at the highest levels they have so many different attacking options he’ll have to adapt and work around them. Some of his runs, effort, etc looks almost pointless, he needs to start stepping up or will become another one who just didn’t quite make it at the top.

As for his non-goal last night, I genuinely believe he thought it was across the line and had started to turn to celebrate.

The state of the Premiership is being shown for all to see. Crystal Palace dumped out of the cup by MIGHTY MACC and now West Ham being taken to extra time by Burton Albion. BTW, did you know that all the top bookies will give you for a Macc win V Brentford is 9-1. Seriously?

😂

It’s almost like lower league clubs have never before beaten top flight clubs over the last 100 hundred years 😂

Ironically, it's one of those Var was brought in to correct 😂. Very much clear and obvious.
Trouble is, we shouldn't need VAR for those decisions....what we need is a linesman who is level with the defensive line and is competent enough to see that at least 2, possibly3 and maybe even 4 Villa players were offside.

Not sure if the liensman is a regular appointee to PL matches where they have the "crutch" of VAR to fall back on, but it seems to me quite possible that some officials may go into Cup matches where VAR is not in operation, forgetting that the onus is on them to actually make a decision/put the flag up.
