That's a deserved lead but it was desperately needed....it was looking like our dominance was going to go unrewarded and you cant afford to do that against Liverpool.

I've actually got some personal knowledge of him from years ago. He played for Reading when we got relegated from the PL in 2007, he was a very good full back but due to financial reasons we loaned him out and didn't offer him a new deal. He become incredibly bitter to be seen as surplus to requirements and when he came back to play against us as a loan player, he made some really pathetic comments about us going in the wrong direction and Ipswich were heading back to the top etc etc. Totally unprofessional.
Ironically, we then reached the Championship play off final and won the league the next season!
Chelsea have a very talented squad and I'm not sure he's got the experience or ability to really get the best from it. He's made a decent start results wise but the last two games were almost carbon copies. Too many changes, trying to be needlessly clever and once reverting back to their best side things turn around. I would back Utd to finish above Chelsea.

Why?
He missed the first third of the season through injury and is being given time to integrate with the team and get used to the style of play. I dont see how you can just write him off after just 9 games, many of which have been substitute appearances.

Really disappointing corners and set pieces from Newcastle...seem too obsessed with putting the ball under the crossbar....not giving the players with height any opportunity to attack the ball.

You can only try to buy a player so many times. If he keeps fobbing you off you have to look elsewhere. Ekitike made it quite clear he had no interest in playing for us when we wanted to sign him before he went to PSG.

Buying a player when seriously injured is never usually a smart move.
He was £50m which is way above his value and he's very close to 30, so no resale value either.
He's only had 2 decent seasons in his entire career in a major league.
I wouldn't write him off totally but it all adds up to panic buy at the moment. He doesn't look like a striker or a winger. You essentially signed two number 10's in the summer and are still lacking a proper striker IMO. Woltemade was alot but you can at least see he's got potential and age on his side.
