We know the Ref’s authority but that is not what they are currently instructed to do! Have you never seen a game continue and one side is playing on while the other wants the ball putting out of play because a team mate is down injured?

The ball goes out, the player is “treated” and his team get reorganised and get a drop ball or whatever to restart the game.

All teams have players who cheat or drag opposition off the floor and why did Gabriel feel the need to drag Wirtze by the arms?
Yes Arsenal did it in that game! So did Liverpool.

Because Wirtz thought he should have had a penalty! Gabriel didn’t.

Why is Gabriel trying to pull him up ?

Just leave him there push out and he’s in an offside position and out of the game.

Watch again! Martinelli drops the ball on Bradley (Yellow Card imo) Dom bends down and touches/says something to Bradley, Bradley shuffles on to pitch, Martinelli then overreacts to that movement and shoves him off the pitch (2nd Yellow imo) and it kicks off.

Bradley then again moves back on to pitch.

Nobody is trying mental gymnastics, just calling it as we see it, it just seems you are only seeing it from one angle.

Bradley was never off the pitch.
The way you explain it sounds like he’s on then off.
He shuffles but at no time was he off the pitch ,his legs were.
He only left the pitch when Martinelli manhandles him.

Last post, Martinelli overreacted when Bradley shuffled onto the pitch.

Even in his apology he acknowledged he didn’t realise Bradley was seriously hurt when he reacted.

So it comes back to what caused his reaction? And, imo, it was his belief Bradley was trying to waste time.👍🏻

You are seeing something that’s not there - Bradley’s “little shuffle” has already started before Dom got there , he isn’t even there when the ball gets dropped on him and he rolled after his was pushed by Martinelli

The lad is seriously injured , potentially out for a long time , was prob in a lot of pain

What is it that people are looking to find , some blame on Bradley and other Liverpool players ? Some absolution of Martinellis actions which have been condemned widely

It’s awful for Bradley

Amorim on IG. I'd be equally smug if I were him now watching from the sidelines.....
Is it genuine? I'd be surprised if a manager needs to take to social media to make a post that is obvious to most. Also, I'd have thought there are certain conditions on his pay-off. And that will be restrictions on what he says on social media?

I actually don't think it is on further inspection! I suspect accurate nonetheless!

I don’t think he would be immune to criticism though - he had the worse record of any manager since Ferguson left and if he was sacked due to poor performances then I don’t think it would be a shock

But doesn’t help with INEOS say judge after 3 years and then clearly someone wanted him to change before then

Is Wilcox an issue ? Was only a DoF at Soton for 18 months and then left to go to Man Utd - it’s a huge job

He certainly isn't immune to criticism however he was brought in with a long term view and playing a very specific way, like it or not he pretty much stuck to that. As you've point out, Jim said he should be judged after 3 years but then sacks him 3 months down the line. I think this could be one of the biggest mistakes we've made in recent years and there's a pretty long list. My prediction is that we bring in a new manager in the summer and we then find ourselves back in this situation within the next 18 months after that. Essentially once every 8-10 months either ourselves or Chelsea will be looking for a new manager.

Wilcox appears to be an issue, getting far too involved in things that aren't within his remit and not doing what is within this job role well. If we're in the mood for sackings I would be very much up for him following Amorim out the door.

Ok last post .
Martinelli was badly wrong.

👍

I don't think Bradley was actively trying to shuffle back on the pitch, given he was injured, and I don't think Szobaszlai was telling him to do that either. I can sort of see how Martinelli might have thought he was, given that his own manager has told him to do exactly that in the past, so I presume he expects all players to sink to that level now. Regardless, he already threw the ball at him before all that - seconds after he went down. Definitely a booking 100%.

For what it's worth, like a lot of things, I think the daft act of rolling back onto the pitch to stop play is a product of the rules and how stupid they are. I don't normally compare football to rugby, but in rugby don't they just treat the player right there on the pitch if need be? The game shouldn't be stopped either way unless it's a head injury, or becomes apparently it's a serious injury like Bradley's one, so rolling onto the pitch or staying off it shouldn't make a blind bit of difference really.

Football could learn a lot from Rugby as you say.

There’s no time wasting because they have a timekeeper !
Injury’s are dealt with on the pitch the game only stops if they get in the way.
Refs don’t take any BS of the players.
Rolling subs so game dosnt stop.

Having watched the Bradley incident over and over again. At no point was Bradley off the pitch. He has gone down without anyone near him. The first thing to happen was Martinelli drops a ball on him. Why? What’s that all about. Bradley then moves about a foot max in a movement that could indicate he is trying to get up or move onto the pitch. Again Martinelli for the second time gets involved. Why?
Lots of questions and only one person has the answers to them and he ain’t a forummer. Time to move on me finks.

Are people not bored of this back and forth now about Bradley and continuing to vilify Martinelli. He was an idiot , made a mistake but guess what he’s human we all do stupid 💩 from time to time! Unless everyone here is perfect I know I’m not !

He’s apologised and acknowledged his mistake and doubt will make it again, fact of the matter is he didn’t injure Bradley, Bradley, Slot and the club have accepted it and want to move on yet the fans want to go round in circles.

Roll on tonight’s game maybe something different will be spoken about 🙄
