Maybe need a “no coaching during the game rule”

I think tennis has this rule.
But enforcing it might be tricky.
I think tennis has recently changed this, on the basis that coded messages were getting through anyway so they may as well open it up officially.

I don't think football would like a change. TV like managers acting like pantomime characters on the sidelines. I think they see it as part of 'the show'.

This does beg the question “ why isn’t he looking at the flight of the ball”?

I guess that as a defender, it can be just as important to look at the players around you as it is the flight of the ball.

Personally, I don’t want to see penalties given for that sort of incident. There’s plenty of other stuff I’d rather they clamped down on first. Just my opinion though. 👍

The picture shown for me shows why it is not a penalty, both players have there arms out for balance, not to gain an advantage.I looked and was accidental. However if his arm was above his shoulder height and moving towards the ball. It’s a nailed on penalty.

As I said previously, sack Maresca. Another appalling result for us this evening and it’s put me in a foul mood.

He should be sacked for playing Badiashile alone.
The lack of response to Villa’s triple substitution was painful.
Pulling Cole Palmer was bemusing.
The lack of game time for Acheampong and Estevao is beyond belief. It shows he doesn’t place any merit on performances, or have the balls to play them over a “senior” player.

He doesn’t have a clue. One of the worst managers at team selections and substitutions I can recall at Chelsea, he simply gets it wrong every time. I can’t remember a single time he’s got it right with personnel.

It’s formulaic dross. Unbearable to watch. We throw away leads like confetti, we don’t ever kill a game, and we deteriorate into chaos in the 2nd half.

All of that is spot on.

The bigger issue is what's the actual goal for the owners at Chelsea? They don't seem to have any interest in building a team to win the title in the traditional way, they just seem to want to sign young talented players to increase their value but have no actual goal. They've been there over 3 years and spent a fortune but there seems to be no sort of plan. I'd be interested to hear what you think of them and what you think the next few years will hold..

Another issue for Chelsea is that they have nine games before the end of January, including games against Arsenal, Man City and Napoli.
