Totally agree, Phil.

I have always been a firm advocate of employing the person who is best for the role, regardless of demographic. And the bottom line is she is beyond awful. Simply not up to it.

Sorry to say it, but entitled, unlikeable and poor are the three words I would also have used to describe Aluko without any prompting from anyone else.

FIFA have really done what's best for fans for the World Cup, and ensured affordable tickets.

You can get a "value" ticket for the Final for as low as £3,119. "Standard" tier is £4,162 and "Premium" tier is £6,615

For comparison, at Qatar these were £450, £747 and £1,197 for each tier.

For groups games, prices have more than doubled from the previous World Cup. To watch England v Croatia, the 3 types of ticket are £198, £373 or £523.

I suppose football is not the best sport if you want to go with 2 or 3 of your kids as well. That'll add up pretty quickly to big money.

Absolutely scandalous pricing, largely taking the game away from the man in the street. And here was I, thinking that FIFA were all about growing the game.

I would dearly love to see fans boycott this WC and watch FIFA squirm when tv cameras show half empty stadiums especially as we reach the latter stages. Sadly it won’t happen as it’s the WC and people will pay what’s asked but that doesn’t stop the pricing being horrific.

I think the ticket pricing is only the tip of the iceberg. Wait until the tv contracts are put out, wait until the price of the adverts during breaks come out. Ave a feeling there’s going to be a but more to come re charges.

I’m taking these new rules with a pinch of salt atm, they haven’t become actual rules yet and stinks of Trumpism. As for the price of tickets, they will sell, there are enough people in the world that can easily afford them. Unfortunately it will mean the stadiums will be like UK NFL games, full of sports tourists and barely any atmosphere

A bit better than the played 8, won 0, drawn 2, lost 6 record we had under He Who Must Not Be Named.

Things look better but we’re still a very far cry from the defensive masters we were for most of last season. Need to get some more points on the board in the PL now.

Only to a certain point. Once you are priced out boycotting isn't a choice, you can't go anyway.

Maybe it will 'all' go to corporate customers.
Imagine England v Argentina with people politely clapping because they don't want to drop their champagne flute or shrimp cocktiail. It will be like football during the pandemic. ;-)

Do the venues of FIFA sort the pricing?

I was trying to figure out how much of the money made goes directly to the venue, and how much is siphoned off to FIFA?

I was actually very optimistic about Ange. At the start at least. I certainly didn’t write him off before he started. Under his tenure we showed moments of brilliance. Sadly, that’s all it amounted to. Moments.

Results speak for themselves. In this industry, you can’t go 8 games without a win so the trigger had to be pulled.

Certainly his appointment was a mistake and put us a good few steps back. Time will tell exactly how damaging the whole thing was.

I never wanted Nuno out by the way. But he signed his own death warrant by doing what he did. I’d expect the reasons why will never be fully known, only guessed at.
