But why single him out? Just about every other player has been a lot worse for even less contact.
Not read all of the last 10 pages but I saw the second Brighton goal today. The guy fouled went down like he had been shot and Paralysis was imminent. Only the following up Brighton player scored and within half a second said Paralysed player had recovered and chased the goal scorer.😖

Brighton won
Read em and weep 🤣🤣🤣🤣
All over us for 20 mins then two brain farts by Morato gifting you two goals ffs 😅

About 6 million attempts on goal between the two teams and about 4 on target between us too. Our final ball decision making was absolutely pony.

Was the most 0-0 2-0 defeat ever but fair play to brighton’s defending which was superb all day.

Onto Wednesday.

He's one of the first I saw when I switched the game on and his reaction was other worldly.
Being a player down, I think he was hoping the ref would equal things out.

That, quite simply, is not the case.
What you're saying is that 90%+ act 'a lot worse' with 'even less contact'.
That doesn't hold true for any of the games I've seen ........................... ever.

Liverpool win and Arsenal drop points.

Arne Slots Redmen are gonna win the league!

A lot of good stuff today

Pleased to see that he got Gomez into the team , Kerkez showed a lot more control today as well as Konate

Isak is still lacking sharpness but the finish was superb

But Wirtz was excellent- you can see there is a player there , he is starting to knit things together

Paqueta red card was pathetic- even the Liverpool players were trying to get him away

The Chelsea Arsenal match was a poor battle of players throwing themselves around trying to get others sent off

Watched it until the sending off, and the last 10 minutes. Everything that has turned me off football. Bunch of cheating prima donnas. I can't quite let myself be done with the sport but my interest wanes more each season.
Not sure anybody mentioned Canceido's reaction after his red card challenge. He reacted as if he'd been shot, looked like he had a horrific injury.

Yet, every replay I have seen, there was no twisting of ankle. Seems pretty clear he knew it was a bad challenge, so feigned injury to try and make it look he was the victim. Must have forgot about VAR.

On a separate game, another player who forgot about VAR was Barry for Everton, who celebrated after scoring. Surely he'd have known it hit his arm!?

Despite playing against 10 men for most of the game, think Arsenal will be quite happy with a point and another tough game out of the way.

Looking good for them as they've played Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle away already. Loads of players coming back from injury too.

Re the Everton handball. What a mess the game has got itself into.
I’m from the era when handball had to be deliberate to be a foul.
Nowadays the nonsense I see where obvious accidental handballs are shouted for and penalised under some weird convoluted rules, seemingly.
Whenever I see these incidents, I can see whether it was intentional, accidentally on purpose, ( both were years ago seen by referees too), or unavoidable. Most objective spectators can too.
Game’s gone silly.

Apparently, had he passed the ball at that point, it would not have been given. As he scored directly from it, it was 😵‍💫. That makes no sense to me.

The Barry handball was as much handball as Harvey Barnes stopping it on the line for Newcastle. Either they are both handball or neither are. The current situation is poor.

And the offside rule!

The two rules they have tried to fix but just made worse.

I completely agree.

It is a farce that handball is given if he scores, but not given if he passes to a team mate to score. And it would absolutely not be given as handball if a defender did it, a penalty would be outrageous.

We've seen goals rules out when a defender smashes the ball at the attacker from a yard out, and it grazes their arm and end up scoring. It is almost like they have dreamt up another technical change to football so that they get to utilise their beloved VAR tool. I can't wait for the day that a player realises they handled it, and avoid scoring a tap in goal. Insteaf, try and keep possession, and look for a team mate to pass to and the team mate ends up scoring.
