Just a few weeks ago the thought of Slot's job being in more jeopardy than Amorim's would have been laughed out of court.
The change around has just been astonishing.
It also goes to show how quickly things change in football.
Basically if your a top team (supposed) and your not top of the league the manager is in trouble.
If your a mid table team but just above the drop zone the manager is in trouble
If you’re a relegation candidate in the bottom 3 the manager is in trouble.

1 week later it all changes as does the league position.

I would like to see no manager changes outside the transfer windows.

Yesterday the player was between the keeper and the ball.

I agree Liverpool were perhaps a little unlucky to have VVD’s goal against City ruled out, but I cannot really agree with the above.

Yes, technically the ball passed the other side of the Forest player on its way in, but at no point was Allison unsighted, and in no way can anyone claim that player’s presence or positioning prevented the Liverpool keeper making a save. He was never going to get anywhere near it, regardless of the Forest player being there. In that respect, much as Liverpool fans are clearly going to disagree, I really do think a dose of common sense was applied.

All I have heard, and I stress not just here, since VVD’s goal was ruled out has been Liverpool fans claiming it should have been given. Perhaps it should have been. But it all strikes me as rather silly to hear the same fans now claiming yesterday’s goal should have been ruled out. Yes, I get there is inconsistency in officiating - I’ve never said otherwise. But the same expertise those Liverpool fans applied to their argument two weeks ago must apply now. Anything less is hypocrisy.

Thankfully the owners aren’t trigger happy and he will get the time to sort it out

But it’s modern football where a manager wins a title and 3 months into a new season some are screaming for him to go

There are the clowns on social media demanding Klopp back

I saw odds yesterday which actually have Klopp as the bookies favourite to replace him. I laughed out loud when I saw that.

Yes I agree.
But can’t you see the problem?
Either both are goals or both are not.
Where was the common sense when VVD scored?

Having one ruled out is showing VAR isn’t working.

I don’t think either keeper would have saved them anyway regardless of interference.
But if that was against UTD you would say the same as us.
That’s football.

Any decent goalkeeper (and outfield players) will always be aware of where the opposition players are, I believe this makes them interfere with play.

For me the problem is the laws of the game, I would make it if your inside the penalty box then you are offside because you will be at least in the defenders thoughts.

For my money both the goals you mention above should have been ruled out but the way the laws are currently you can make an argument for either being onside or offside.
VAR was meant to be decisive in this and take away the mistakes that human officials make, instead it’s causing more controversy and they are bending and tweaking the laws to fit VAR which is totally wrong.

All of this is just my opinion though

Of course I can see the problem! I’ve more than alluded to it in the couple of posts I’ve added on the subject. And I’ve long wanted rid of VAR. It simply does not work. Never has, never will, because you still have the same imbeciles behind it who were refereeing games pre-VAR.

Both incidents were pretty the same - I thought last weeks should have been a goal and yesterdays should be a goal - but because they ruled out VVDs they should be ruling out Murillos - but that would show consistency which is very much lacking

I keep saying, VAR will never ever work if you are looking for consistent decisions.

Even if you ignore the opinions of blinkered fans or silly people, you will have many many incidents were knowledgeable, logical folk have vastly different views. So, depending on who has to make a VAR decision, there will always be differences.

Take VVD's goal. The officials all effectively ruled it out. Some agree. But many also strongly disagree, including non Liverpool fans

Quick thought - is Slot as good a manager as people think? Did Liverpool only win the PL last season because it was Klopp’s team?

Did Klopp win it with that team ?

And how good do people think he is ? There aren’t many that win the title , and he is one of them - he will need to earn his wages over the rest of the season but he has shown he is good enough to be our manager

We will find out this season. Last season he left things pretty much as they were. Now he’s trying to put his own mark on things he doesn’t look quite so good. Yet.

Liverpool romped the PL last year.

But you’re only as good as your last results and atm that’s not very good.
I just don’t get why he consistently plays players who are struggling and out of form.
The squad is big enough.

Keep hearing that Slot is under threat, but is he. Of course Liverpool are not where they expected to be but are the knives really out.
