IMO one of the reasons we are giving away more chances is the way that Gravenburch is playing - last season he was huge for us as the 6 , protecting the back four as well as being the person who could take the ball on the turn

And then Macca next to him is way off form

If we can get Grav settled into that role again and then have either Jones or Dom next to him that will hopefully fill the gap
Just a thought though.
Why is Slot continuing to play players that are obviously out of form ? Salah and Macallister have been awful.

It’s not like we’re short of players!
Also playing players out of position when we have players on the bench who play that position .

Because of how key they were last season - both were huge players for the team and it’s a choice of putting them on the bench where they won’t find form or playing them to try and find form

No !
If your out of form you get dropped until you prove otherwise on the training ground.

That’s why we have a squad

I agree, but I don’t think the likes of Salah are that crap on the training ground.
TAA wasn’t that good at defending, but he was excellent at giving Salah the space to show what he can do. TAA not being there has impacted Salah, but also he does look a yard slower than before.
I thought Slot made a statement yesterday with his substitutions. Not only hooking Salah. But also in the way he changed the formation and going for it, and if it hadn’t been for a couple of sitters missed he would have been lauded.
I also do think that some of the younger players who have gone on loan or been sold has been a little too much, but in the case of Quansah I understand the planning.
But it seems clear a few players are dragging the ship down, and Konate not signing a new contract is one of them (even though he had his best game yesterday)

The manager works a different way , it was the same with Klopp , certain players will play - some players play themselves into form , some don’t - there is no hard and fast rule

For some the only way to find form is being on the pitch , how many times has Salah been poor and then to pop up and score the winner

These players could be proving themselves on the training ground

It’s never simple

I would agree with that, but with the money they have spent I would have thought they would have strengthend that position. They look short there and at centre back which seems mad

That position was a position of strength last season and no one has left - Gravenburch was the best 6 in the league last season and McAllister one of the best midfielders

Form is the key issue at the moment

We started the season in awful form - nothing to worry about for now!

See where the table stands after new year is the big test, you don't have to be perfect now to win the league. Arsenal and City wont go unbeaten from here

He’s been splitting up the midfield though to cover for the right back!

Even though Frimpong is sitting on the bench.

He put Gravenberch Centre back with Gomez sitting on the bench.

Macallister is out of form ,That’s why the midfield is struggling.

I don’t think McAllister was that great and would have liked to see him replaced.

I accept your opinion differs but I think he was covered a lot last year by Gravenburch

Purely using the words “oh it’s Liverpool they don’t do these sort of things” highlights a woe is me attitude and they want special treatment for who they are.

It happen so quickly there would’ve been no chance to stop the game and if it had been the other way round he’d be moaning it should’ve played on.
