If you reverse that, Kane and a couple of others that have gone to Bayern are having fantastic seasons there. Even Eric Dier looked half decent. The only two that have come from Germany that spring to mind and have done very well are Haaland and KDB. But is that down to a coach getting the best out of them and the coach not getting the best out of them at Liverpool.
I don’t know. The one that surprises me is Isak. He is proven Premier league quality and yet has not at the moment found his best form.

Eric Dier looking half decent should tell you all you need to know. Jadon Sancho being a star performer is another case in point.

It’s a league for flat track bullies. Outside a handful of clubs it’s bang average. Kane is a class act, but he was always going to score for fun in that league.

😂😂😂

Firmino
Kompany
Babbel
Son
Berbatov
Hamman
Gvardiol
Illkay
Konate

The list is vast

Sesko is 21 - not sure why anyone wokld be writing him but it’s going to be someone looking for a reaction

But stats about assists and goals if used in isolation won’t ever tell the full story

Wirtz for example has created 21 chances this season - more than any other player , the fact they haven’t been taken then looks bad on him
😂😂😂😂 That’s some spin 👏 😬

So many Liverpool fans on social media are saying he needs to go 🤣
Let's be serious here. Liverpool are a very good side. Their attacking qualities are very good. Van Dijk and Konate need to both have a good week at the same time. Not one good this week the other one the next.
Robertson needs to come back into the team, the new lad is a liability.
I'm afraid Salah has had them off with that contract he's not the force he once was. But if Slot can get the system right they could be a your worst nightmare

I couldn’t careless I don’t support a Prem team! Social media is currently full Of Liverpool fans calling for Slot to be sacked. I find it hilarious because it’s ridiculous and shows the state of football nowadays

Think we will see a lot more twists and turns this season- it’s going to go the whole way to the last day

It’s been an up and down start with a lot of new players

Robobs legs aren’t the best now and Mo can’t start every game

But both will play their part

The first thing the manager needs to do is get the two midfielders sitting better as a double pivot like they did last season

McAllister is way out of form

Get the base sorted again and things will work better

Also think we are missing Trent and his ability on the ball

Robbo's old legs are much better than his replacements.
Salah was handed a massive contract to play on the pitch not sit on the bench.

I wasn't addressing you in particular it was the panicking Kopites calling for Slots head. I should have made myself clearer

Doesn’t matter what someone is earning - if they are playing poorly then they can’t start - if Salah is scoring and contributing then he plays , but he isn’t , and right now he is missing too many chances , so he can be dropped

And Robbo was the one at fault for the last minute goal against Chelsea

If Salah is to be benched then it shows poor forward planning by your club. Trying so hard to tie someone on the decline down to a long term contract they give him 400k a week. Same goes for Van Dijk he’s been terrible this season, they should have not chased Isak so hard and gone all out to give Palace an offer they couldn’t refuse earlier in the window to get Guehi so that had time to replace him with a bigger war chest instead of wasting it on excessive wages for VVD and Mo

Palace accepted the bid for Guehi and we also bought another CB in the window 🤷‍♂️ - Palace weren’t selling Guehi until they sorted Europe out and they got a replacement in

Mo signed for 2 more years not a long term contract , was he on the decline last season when he had over 50 goal involvements?

Both VVD and Mo signed new contracts before the window and had nothing to do with the summer transfer budget

Last season it was poor planning to have their contracts run out and now it’s poor planning to extend them by 2 years 🤷‍♂️

Very much agree.

I fully appreciate why any club would have liked Isak. But they brought in Ekitike (for a big fee), and he looks like he could be very very good.

But to then bring in Isak for such a huge fee, it is a big gamble. Too many high paid, potentially high quality players that you need to rotate. Harder to keep them happy, harder to give them lots of games to build momentum. And, given it was clear Isak became a rat and highly disliked player in general, I'm not sure that is ideal for the buying club. Not unless they simply are in desperate need of the player

And I said at the time, if Liverpool really really wanted Guehi, they could have offered a bit more and Palace would have accepted. Maybe they would have done if they hadn't committed to paying so much for Isak.

I think it's fair to say there's a few that have suprisingly been a shaodw of their former self. Salah will be sold in the summer, thats for sure. VVD is also looking a shadow of his former self, but also Konate is playing the Trent trick and trying to go to RM, although the way he has performed before today won't get him there.
Isak is obviously out of shape still, the Mac Alister is also down. Ryan G I think is suffering because others around him just aren't cutting it.
It is still early in the season, and regardless of fees paid, I do think it take a good year for foreign players to adapt to the PL and it's pace.
I'm not overly worried as it stands. Nothing stays the same and if it give those who complained last season was a 1 horse race walkover then thats fine something else to moan about, thats fine :)

You’ve missed my point you went for Guehi on a decent offer to late in the window. Should have not messed about and gone straight in at the start with it that way you had a better chance of getting someone that you need and Palace would’ve have time to replace him. The manager said no to letting him go because you left it so late so they couldn’t get a like for like. Easy to say it’s Palace fault
You didn’t get him but if you hadn’t left it till final day that deal would happen.

2 years a 400k whether you deem that long term at his age it is! It’s also a huge waste of money and if that didn’t affect your budgets it is even worse planning!

We made the same offer for Guehi previously our first offer ( same one they accepted was made 2 weeks before ) and Palace left the offer there because they wanted to wait

And we also signed another CB - we have 4 in the club

A 2 year extension is not long term

It clearly didn’t affect the budgets going by the players that the club still brought in

Both VVD and Mo were huge to us winning the title last season and it was an easy choice to give them both extensions based on the level of performance

What do you think about Bruno ?

He seemed to be running around like a headless chicken. I wasn’t very complimentary, until he put it on Maguire head for the winner !
The cushioned volley was sublime but he wasn't at his best today or this season truthfully.
When he had that chance 1st half I was expecting the net to bulge as were most of the Kop.
He lost the ball a number of times, his touch was off and his passing was lethargic. But he does try to do everything by himself. Delegation is what he needs

No idea how he missed that chance

Fernandes needs to be in the ten role in front of two centre mids - can’t have him in the middle of the park
