Looks like if you create chances for Hojlund he will score 5 games 3 goals
When I continually said this when he wore a Man Utd shirt, it is funny how there were a few that were quick to discredit this.

After Amorim came in, it did seem like his confidence dropped. But, in all his time under ETH, his goal to shots ratio was fantastic. You felt like as soon as he got a chance, he'd score. Often it felt that chance had to be created and scored all by himself. The problem was, he never had the service. I think over a prolonged period, at one time I checked, he was getting 1 shot every 2 games.

He never got the opportunity to really show what his potential could lead to. I still had question marks as to whether it was simply appauling service from team mates, poor movement, or a bit of both. However, given the service was clearly bad, I also wouldn't be surprised if the confidence he had in his team mates plummetted, and he simply stopped wasting energy in making certain runs, knowing the ball would never arrive anyway.

I've consistently said that I feel for Hojlund and that he should never have been brought in as our number 1 striker with that little experience. His confidence was shot by the end and whilst some of his lack of goals was down to himself that all goes back to being inexperienced yet everyone expecting you to be Harry Kane! That said I'd be prepared to bet that if we'd bought Kane instead of (or as well as) Hojlund he'd have struggled to score with the lack of service that he'd have got. The rumours are that he wants to come back to England to take the goalscoring record, he'd be wise to avoid United unless he's happy for that to take another 4-5 seasons given the relative lack of chances he'll get!!

The only thing I'd say about that (Kane at Utd) is that Kane is that good, he has so much presence up front, that his team mates would more naturally look to find him. If they weren't, they'd immediately be slaughtered. And if they weren't, Kane would have the experience and character to let them know, and they would listen. Like when Ronaldo or Ibrahimovic came to the club. There may have been many flaws at the club, but it would have been absolutely impossible for the team to not look to play the ball to either of those two guys and get away with it.

The issue with Hojlund is that he was so young, inexperienced and unproven. He was often a willinmg runner and worked so hard to do a shift for the team, but he obviously didn't have the confidence or presence to demand much more from his team mates. Meanwhile, many of his team mates, especially the wingers, were trying to be the hero of the side. They seemed to all have one mindset. Cut in, shoot. If they did anything else, it was only because they were forced into it and had to bail out of having a shot.

I hope things are different for Sesko, although he is still young. He is physically a much bigger presence, but does he have the football charisma (so to speak) for his team mates to naturally look to use him? In the small amount of time he has had, sadly I have not yet seen any difference. But, it is too early, and I hope more experienced players like Cunha and Mbeumo will start to find ways to link up with Sesko much better than what Hojlund had around him.

Wonder when Marinikas will think - I have messed up here

That must be a penalty
That was the most toxic atmosphere I’ve experienced, after their 3rd went in. Gibbs white seemed visibly shocked with the “sacked in the morning” chants (rightly so, it’s a step too far)

I’m fully Ange out now (was willing to give him time but ONE sub is criminal)

Ref was awful tonight. Anderson could have been murdered and he’d have waved play on. But fair play to that Dane’s for taking their chances.

Long drive home now ffs

Talking to Missis T last night, she had contacted a pal of hers re a rum and Gin night. Her pal went to the game, she is in her 60’s. She was very upset at the “ Toxic” atmosphere at the game. She used the exact same words as you. She has never experienced anything like last night. 😳

Just seen a post on FB about Carl H R of Bayern saying, basically, there is far to much money in the champions league and BM cannot compete v teams owned by countries. I agree. There is too much money in football, and I , for one, cannot relate to the players anymore. Also, whilst I'm on, I was told Sky don't care about people paying subscriptions now, as the majority on their income come from advertising. No wonder they quickly back down at renewal time. They only need people to be signed up to prove to advertiser's they have the viewing figures.

Are Bayern Munich not getting the CL money every year

There is a certain irony about Bayern complaining about excessive money when they dominate German football due to...........having by far the most amount of money. It's okay when it suits them 🤷‍♂️

Exactly that

Seems they missed out on some signings this summer to Prem clubs so it’s all moaning about money

Edit - to add , they also didn’t ever mind when they plundered all the over German clubs to get their top players as well

I don't know if it is just me, but the names in the England squad now seem so much weaker than when we'd talk about the England squad a year or 2 ago. OK, there is still a few top players in it, but I reckon opponents would be even less fearful of facing them. I wasn't aware it was being announced today, I only found out when my collegaue at work said "Ohh my God, have you seen the England squad, it is absolutely garbage"

Is Bellingham injured? Has Grealish not shown any form yet? Has Foden got any better this season?

In fairness, I suppose they are only playing a friendly against Wales and a match against Latvia, so I suppose Tuchel can afford to try different players. Although, I'm still a big believer that given international sides do not often play together, it is a great idea to try and pick your best players all the time, so they can get used to playing with each other.

Damn, I read your post and it has brought me sadness that there is another international break already. Ridiculous. Only the 7th game of the league season tomorrow and two international breaks already? Bore off.

I think Bellingham has been injured, he wasn't in the previous squad either. I'd have had Grealish straight back in, I think he brings something very different to any other player. Interesting to see Quansah and Loftus-Cheek involved, both playing abroad so I've no idea how they're doing. On that basis though, Tomori still not getting a look-in.
