Was soft. Ekitike looks really sharp and the ball through the middle is on all the time. Galatasary equally look dangerous. This games got bags of goals in it

Dreadful from Liverpool.

Can’t remember a red team that gives the ball away as much as this one.
Slot trying to be to clever playing Sob FB when we have two good ones on the bench.
He’s changed the best midfield in the league to shoehorn Wirtz in.

Got what we deserved ,but some very strange decisions by the ref for both teams!

At least VAR did its job.

I found the below interview with Amorim his most enlightening yet. Sure, I still have my big doubts until I actually see sustained evidence on the pitch. But he talks about changing his system and the types of characters he thinks he needs, and I can't disagree with too much of what he says

Solid rather than inspirational performance from Newcastle this evening.

Slowly the team is beginning to knit together and game by game you can see greater understanding between the players, albeit still with an occasional tendency to overplay which caused us to get caught out on occasions...a better team would have perhaps punished us for such mistakes.

Still, 4-0 away from home in any European match cant be complained at. Woltemade got his first CL goal, Elanga looked dangerous and direct, Gordon put away two clinical penalties and substitute Barnes tucked away a tidy finish after a fast direct break.
