For those of us who thought our dreams of professional football might be a thing of the past, my local club so might go and watch on Saturday......

"In light of the unfortunate news that first-team goalkeeper Harrison Foulkes has suffered a spleen injury and will be out of action for up to four weeks – and with the club unable to secure a replacement in time for Saturday’s match against AFC Totton – we are delighted to welcome staunch supporter Terry Dunn to the Wanderers’ ranks.

Dunn, 54, whose former clubs include the now extinct North Holmwood FC, joins the playing squad on a temporary basis. The stopper was a multiple promotion winner with several local clubs before hanging up his gloves in 1997.

Upon signing for the Wanderers, Dunn said: “Playing in goal is like riding a bike – you never forget it. I still regularly play walking football. As a Wanderers fan, no one will be trying harder than me to keep a clean sheet on Saturday.”

Club Chairman and First-Team Manager Marc White added: “In an era where passion comes in low quantities, what Terry lacks in mobility, he’ll make up for in heart – and for one game, we’re just going to have to get on with it.”

Fans can expect a new loan goalkeeper to be announced on Monday, joining the club on a four-week deal.

In the meantime, Terry is set to make his debut at Meadowbank this Saturday as we face AFC Totton in the National League South."

Good luck to the lad .
I can feel a mom performance coming on.
Let us know how he gets on.👍

Nice to see the ref in the Scotland game go to the monitor and wave it away and stick to his original decision.

But his original decision was wrong imo never handball.

According to the BBC, who have had the England starting line up leaked to them, Elliot Anderson makes his debut today against Andorra..

For some reason the BBC don't name the Keeper....maybe against Andorra we have chosen to do without.
Burn
Guehi
James
Lewis-Skelly
Anderson
Rice
Eze
Rashford
Kane
Madueke

lets see in half an hour how good the BBC's "sources" are.

But there’s no such thing as an easy game in international football any more. Apparently.

What rubbish. A team as highly rated in the rankings as England should be dismantling opposition like this, especially at home.

But some will doubtless continue to try and defend this bilge.

England have always been very methodical to me. Don't seem to have the natural flamboyance that some other nations seem to exhibit much more frequently. Could do with another Gazza in the side.

Been a boring game, but probably would have been regardless of result. I'm sure they'll see it as job done, onto the next one.

They should be absolutely gubbing sides like this, others do.
Portugal managed five goals away from home, but they do have attacking flair in abundance.
Oh, and confidence.

That was a hard watch.

Worth noting that this is by far the worst international break, we've had half of the first 11 pull out and it was treated as a training game.

Despite that we should've won 4-5 nil. Some of the misses were horrendous from Eze, Rashford and Anderson.
