He should have done his homework, unless city gave him no option in the buyback? Newcastle wanted him, clearly made him their number 1 target, he'd have become their number 1 within a few months, if not immediately. Now he's at City playing the league cup games 🤷. No way was Pep going to make him first choice straight away.

Trafford eyes lit up when City came back for him

Nice juicy wage packet

And not sure why City would look at Donnarumma as the one area he struggles with - his feet

It is a strange call from PSG to dump him

Something happened behind the scenes? He's a top keeper, you wouldn't think they would want to lose him

I don't watch European football so I can't comment on his ball competency. That doesn't sound good though, it's a big deal for city. Odd then.

It probably is an upgrade on Bamford to sit on the bench. 57 Premier League goals v 24, and three years younger. Expect Piroe still starts.
still not convinced. Bamford 24 goals in 5 Premier league seasons so call that an average of 5 goals a season!

Calvert-Lewin 57 in 9 seasons, that average works out to 6.33 goals a season with a similar if not worse injury record! That’s not a big upgrade but a sideways step.

If Calvert-Lewin can stay fit and get better service then maybe it’s better. But he’s made of Glass and seems an unnecessary signing for me when they could get someone with better potential on probably a better contract. But who knows it may work out for them.

Bamford failed to score in the Championship last season and Farke has told him he's now surplus to requirements anyway.

Just seen that his contract does run out but he wanted a new one at PSG and to stay but they signed the GK from Lille and want to go with him

So Donnarumma prob one of the best around could go for a free again next summer r

Leeds definitely need more than Calvert-Lewin. I don't rate Piroe either, very good finisher in the Championship but he's got no pace, can't hold it up and will struggle at this level. Could do some damage off the bench though.

Oh I’m fully aware of that and Bamford isn’t good enough for them to move forward. But my point is I don’t see DCL as a great choice of replacement.

I’d argue if you put him in the Championship with his brittle body he’d miss half a season not score enough goal’s to warrant being at a top championship club either.

Piroe isn’t good enough either. Just think whatever they’re splashing on DCL could be better spent on other attacking options. There’s a reason nobody other than Leeds have looked at signing him and that’s he’s not good enough. It seems a desperate roll of the dice for me and he won’t save them.

I think most of us would agree that the pay packet would be a great motivation to move to another club.

Although the report I have read is that he will earn £48,500 a week, which seems about right if compared to Ederson, who is on £100,000 a week. I'd have thought other interested clubs could have offered Trafford similar?

This is an excellent point. Instead it’s “poor old palace”.

I’m still genuinely flabbergasted that Steve Parish has somehow managed to dodge any accountability in this whole ridiculous saga

Maybe because our chairman has not smuggled drugs, fixed matches (multiple times), been associated to dodgy betting patterns, bribed refs, spat at officials, invaded a pitch at a club where he has not got any controlling interest, banned journos who he disagrees with or stormed refs rooms at half time. Of course, neither has your guy as he has always managed to get off these allegations.

Looking forward to welcoming your chairman to Selhurst on the 24th.

If he believes he can be Ederson’s predecessor it’s a great move for him, probably more for the chance of winning silverware.
If the figures you quote are right it’s definitely not just about the money.

UEFA had already started investigating them before any letter was sent.. 🙃

Agreed our main issue is with UEFA and their view we were in a MCO situation and then their over the top sanction, which does not stand up when compared to Man City, Man Utd, Villa and the Red Bull bullshit, that is the main reason we are out. But we all know your guy did not help with his involvement, your guy is in it deep with Textor (the deal with Matt Turner stinks as does your Brazilian connections) and CAS did not allow us to produce the evidence that Forest themselves missed the frigging deadline and were allowed to by UEFA!!!!!

Parish did not put is in a blind trust or reply by the deadline as we felt and still do that we did not have a MCO situation. That has proved to be a wrong decision by Parish in hindsight, but most of us can see why he felt that and now why he feels we have been shafted.

@4LEX on the prediction thread you have Sesko as best buy and Ekitike as worst. Is that a bit of East Lancs banter or is there genuine reasoning behind it? I haven't seen either so I'm interested to hear.

Our new striker hasn't had a mention on the worst signing section, Barry, but I suspect that might be because people know even less about him than the bigger names 😄

Because Forest had already started the process and wrote to uefa to ask for an extension to finish filing the paperwork. Which they approved….Palace probably would have been able to do the same had they not completely disregarded it 🤷🏻‍♂️

Bottom line is, Parish had no ambition to win anything and was happy to finish 12th every season, so didn’t bother to act on it and that is ultimately been the downfall.

Throw Marinakis’ name in the mud all you like (with a number of allegations he’s been fully cleared of by the way), it doesn’t change the fact that Parish has blamed every single other party and not accepted an ounce of blame. The statement he put out yesterday was no less embarrassing than the one Forest put out after we lost to Everton.

I almost feel sorry for Palace fans at this point. You have a hugely ambitious manager with a chairman/owner who lacks the same ambition.

Ooh, where's that?
I had a look a few days ago but couldn't find it.

No banter at all, I want to win the thing! I think Sesko will be a huge upgrade for Utd and will stand out as a result. I admit to not really knowing a great deal on Ekitike but for me he won't start many games for Liverpool if they get Isak, so will be considered a signing that wasn't really needed. That's my logic anyway!

I reckon Barry will get 6-12 and be considered a decent buy at £30m odd!

I've said the same on Ekitike, feels like one of those players who did well abroad but doesn't settle in England and ends up not playing. Liverpool haven't had loads of luck with strikers either lately. I could be wrong of course, given that he's already scored in the Charity Shield. As you say though, if Isak arrives then he won't be starting every game.

I have absolutely no idea who Barry is so 🤷🏻

If Isak arrives then i suspect we will see Ekitike move to the left channel a bit more - in the same way as Diaz did
