Whilst I expect Gyokeres to be good signing for Arsenal, as with any player coming in from the continent there is a risk attached to it.

Whatever you think of Rio Ferdinand, he has talked a degree of sense when it comes to the player’s goal scoring record in Portugal. He pointed out that Gyokeres will not get the sort of chances he has had there against well drilled top Premier League defences.

We will see.
Maguire and De Ligt......"Hold my beer" ;)

It’s a massive step into the prem and many players coming in from other leagues have struggled after superb records elsewhere - if he was 21 then he may have a better chance , but 27 is quite late in his career - even more so when player with two wingers that cut inside all day long

I don’t expect he’ll be scoring a goal a game in the prem.
But as Arthur compared his goals to Nunez,it’s not like Nunez hasn’t had the chances at Liverpool.

When he battered City in the champs league, he looked mustard. However he hit City on the break. When he plays for Arseanl, teams will be sat back and defend in numbers. We will then see if he can make the runs, space etc etc. it’s a similar situation that Darwin Nunez found himself in and he was rammel.

Only a matter of time until he bounces back tho 😉

Enjoyed the bit of the England v Italy game I watched last night. And enjoyed the crowd…which is a lot more than I can say about the vileness of the crowds watching much of the Mens game.

Just heard a Leeds fan on TalkSport passionately explaining how the Championship is so much more exciting to watch than Premier League, much faster play, etc.

And what was he basing this on? Because the Leeds v Man Utd game last weekend was so dull, 2 PL teams head to head, proves his point.

Brilliant.

I wonder how many dull games Championship sides played during their first pre season games?

I heard this too... blokes in cuckoo land!

When we did 3 years in the Championship and came back up, it actually blew my mind how fast premier league football was in comparison to Championship - plus the quality of just every player, the touch etc.

I loved the Championship, its a cracking league, but its now miles back from the PL.
