Just need some players now to strengthen and add depth to the squad.

Elanga and a Spanish U-19 winger (Cordero) wont be enough to satiate the baying masses who think we have gazzillions to spend....and, after Popes antics in no-mans land against Celtic the other day the knives are out for him in certain circles. Another center back and two midfielders, one defensive, one creative would see a decent summer...especially if we do cling on to Isak.

Maybe with the addition of the new Technical Director from Atalanta, it might help drive the arrival of the Italian defender Scalvini from the same club, who we have been linked with on regular occasion.
Talking to a lad at Oasis who watched the Celtic Newcastle game. He said Newcastle were shocking and was impressed by Celtic.

We didn't play anything like a full team (6 regular first team picks in the first half and then and swapped 9 of the 11 at half time which left 5 (different) first team picks on the pitch). Key absentees that didn't feature at all were Livramento, Hall, Joelinton, Isak. This was our first pre-season match, Celtic's 5th.

No concerns. Its what pre-season is for.

Usually the case when one team wins 4-0 to be fair

Still the first pre season game though. I doubt any of the players really cared too much about being competitive. Just wanted a bit of a run about and start building up match fitness

Celtic also made 10 or 11 subs and played both halves with a mixture of first team and reserves. It was the 2nd pre season game for the bulk of the first team squad.

Comical mistake from the Newcastle keeper for the 2nd goal, think he must have been upset by the Newcastle fans singing FTP :D

There's so much headloss from fans surrounding preseason friendlies when their team doesn't turn up and play like prime Barca!

They are literally a training and fitness exercise. Score is utterly irrelevent.

Big time, I think we've lost our first 2 so far :ROFLMAO: dont care one bit! Just want no injuries and minutes in the legs!

Sky Sports and BBC seem slow to report on this. Still don't see anything on their websites about the signing being complete

Romano has given it the ‘Here we go’ on Twitter and Ornstein said total agreement is pretty much there. They tend to be the more reliable ones when it comes to announcements.

Agbonlahor has the title done and dusted now within him signing

Seems he will give guaranteed goals and will challenge Haaland for the golden boot

Good old Talksport 😂
I’d take anything he says with a pinch of salt 👍🏻
Although his numbers are very impressive, what ever league they’re in.

The ‘Meaning of Life’ and ‘How is Agbonlahor still in a job’ are two of the universes most unanswerable questions.

It will be interesting how he goes

Brighton normally don’t get things wrong and let him go

Then in the Championship he wasn’t a massive goal machine

Did well in Portugal

The same league where Nunez in his last season got 26 goals in 28 league games

Believe he was the 2nd highest scorer in his 2nd season at Coventry 👍🏻

I’ve never seen him play, but will be interesting to see how he does.
IF he can score 20+ goals it’ll certainly put Arsenal in good.
Personally I hope he’s another Nunez 😂

Big questions to answer and a lot of pressure given he's exactly what Arsenal have lacked. He's got a great record in the CL and also for Sweden in the last 2 years, so he's done it on those stages.

Whilst I expect Gyokeres to be good signing for Arsenal, as with any player coming in from the continent there is a risk attached to it.

Whatever you think of Rio Ferdinand, he has talked a degree of sense when it comes to the player’s goal scoring record in Portugal. He pointed out that Gyokeres will not get the sort of chances he has had there against well drilled top Premier League defences.

We will see.
