I can see Rashford getting 40 goals in La Liga this year now, and firing on all cylinders in the Champions League. After all, look how Antony did in La Liga, and Rashford is miles better than him (if you ignore attitude).

Glad we've got him away from the club this season, I just think the above would be typical, and then Barcelona getting him at a steal at the end of the season :ROFLMAO:

Despite Rashford having issues at Man Utd he has shown to be a very very good player - it’s all gone wrong at Man Utd for prob multiple reasons

Every chance he goes to Barcelona and has a very good season
Agree, when he went to Villa on loan he showed what a classy player he is. Maybe it was because he wasn't one the top dogs and therefore it took the pressure off him.
Good luck to him at Barcelona.

Seemed to me like he was just giving Utd the finger when he went to Villa 😬

Interesting...this (sports data driven practices) is one area where it was highlighted (possibly by Dan Ashworth during his brief tenure as Sporting Director) that Newcastle lagged behind other clubs...

Newcastle United have appointed Sudarshan Gopaladesikan as the club's Technical Director.

Reporting into a new Sporting Director, Sudarshan - known as Suds - will lead the club's football data operations, working closely with Eddie Howe and his coaching staff and the club's performance, medical, analysis, methodology and recruitment teams.

His role will be dedicated to implementing data-informed practices across all sporting departments throughout men's, women's and Academy teams.

Suds joins the Magpies after leaving Italian side Atalanta BC, where he was Director of Football Intelligence. During his time in Bergamo, Atalanta secured three consecutive top five finishes in Serie A, won the UEFA Europa League and reached a Coppa Italia final.

Prior to his move to Italy, he was Head of Sports Data Science at Portuguese side SL Benfica. In his five seasons in Lisbon, Benfica's men's team won the Primeira Liga title and reached the quarter-finals of both the UEFA Champions League and Europa League, while Benfica's women's team won two national titles. Meanwhile, Benfica's academy reached the UEFA Youth League final twice and won the 2021/22 edition of the tournament.

Outside of his club experience, Suds lectures for FIFA's Executive Education programmes and the PFA Business School on data-driven decision making.

Newcastle have also recently hired a specialist set piece coach as well.

Just need some players now to strengthen and add depth to the squad.

Elanga and a Spanish U-19 winger (Cordero) wont be enough to satiate the baying masses who think we have gazzillions to spend....and, after Popes antics in no-mans land against Celtic the other day the knives are out for him in certain circles. Another center back and two midfielders, one defensive, one creative would see a decent summer...especially if we do cling on to Isak.

Maybe with the addition of the new Technical Director from Atalanta, it might help drive the arrival of the Italian defender Scalvini from the same club, who we have been linked with on regular occasion.
