At this point I’m just baffled as to why Netflix or Prime haven’t done a documentary about Forest! 🤣

In the space of 24 hours or so, we sold our best player for a secret lowball release clause that was hitherto unknown to anyone, started a legal battle about it, signed a new Brazilian defender who is reportedly a world class prospect, launched a new kit, were promoted to the Europa League from the Conference League and had war declared upon us by the fanbases of both Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace for different reasons.

Now if that doesn’t have more entertainment value than a documentary about Arsenal finishing in 5th place or two Hollywood actors bankrolling a club from Wales, I don’t know what does!

He'd soon have that attitude knocked out of him. Its one of the features about the current team...the togetherness, everyone trying.

But, if he is as you say, then I guess that he wouldnt feature on Howe's radar. Anyway, it was hypothetical, was just trying to stimulate some Villa related rumour for you...perhaps more likely might be a bid for Ramsey.

Liverpool have now said they terminated his contract before he died. By doing so, they are able to pay his full contract earnings out to his wife and family. (Apparently FIFA regulations prohibit a contract being paid out in the event of a player dieing whilst under contract.) They have also said they will pay for his 3 childrens education.

Bro in law and his son are going. Staying Saturday and Sunday night.
My lad got the pre sale tickets at the pre sale price before the tickets went up.
As it happens the lower ticket price and early booking of hotel cost the same as when tickets prices went up.
I saw Oasis at Nottingham the day after City beat Utd 3-1 at Maine rd in the last Derby game. That weekend was electric at Maine rd and Nottingham Ice area.

A player is contracted to play. If they are no longer alive, they are not around to play. Liverpool can afford to do this, other clubs may not be able to. This protects those clubs, I imagine is the reasoning.

If you take football out of the equation, what happens with most employees after a death? Wages are not paid still. It's why life insurance is a sensible move.

I agree with other comments, it's a classy move by Liverpool.

Absolutely a classy move, but I’d be very surprised if clubs don’t insure the players who are, after all, their biggest assets.

Utd would do that but sack a couple of cleaners to compensate rather than the Glazers take a hit on their dividends
 
Sweden - Germany ladies match has opened up at a cracking pace.

Germany looking typically powerful in attack but a tad fragile further back.

1-1 after 15 minutes.

3-1 to Sweden after 35 mins, Germany down to 10. Sweden have weathered the early German storm and since equalizing have been pretty dominant and deserve their lead.

German keeper is having a mare...has gifted two great chances to the Swede's, trying to play out, neither of which they converted.

A low key second half...Germany largely tightened things up and Sweden havent really pushed as hard as they could have...however, Sweden have just notched their 4th goal in the 80th minute and, such has been their relative comfort in this half, they didn't even celebrate.

The issue is Spurs have somehow offered the exact amount of the release clause - which is a.) confidential unless there is permission to disclose by the club and b.) a lot less than he's realistically worth.

So Spurs have somehow (i.e. through his agent or the player himself) been made aware of the release clause value without any contact with the club.

Added to that, a medical has been scheduled less than 24 hours later....all without the club knowing anything about it. If someone can't see how that's not within the rules, I don't really know what to say.

I don't really understand what you and other Forest fans are getting at here - what would be the point of putting a release clause in his contract then trying to keep it a secret from everybody? 😂 That just sounds ridiculous to me. Release clauses in contract are generally common knowledge aren't they? Quite often see them mentioned in transfer rumours and so on. The agent probably told Spurs and they put the bid in - quite simple.

I highly doubt Spurs managed to make an offer for the release clause amount without Forest knowing about it - how would that work exactly? Do they answer the phone by shouting LA LA LA LA and sticking their fingers in their ears?? 😂

When I mentioned last week about retiring shirt number 20. It was just my thoughts.
There were rumours, and that’s all they were rumours that Liverpool were going to cancel his contract to pay up. I thought it crass to comment on rumours. So I didn’t. I think it is massive what Liverpool have done.
When Marc Vivian Foe died whilst at City. The following season I bought the away shirt that he would have worn. They looked at me gone out in the club shop when I asked for his name and number on the back of the shirt.
I have a feeling that the number 20 shirt will be a fitting tribute to his legacy next season and rightly so.
