Am I right in thinking that earlier on in the tournament posters were saying we were rubbish and should be learning from other teams? I'm not saying we can't learn, but we must be doing something right
I seem to remember one poster dismissing young English footballers because when he was on holiday, he saw some talented Spanish kids playing on the beach?

Doesn't see that in England, thus the English are inferior

One thing I did see yesterday in the highlights, the U 21’s seem more open to attacking when there is a break rather than get 3/4s of the way up the pitch and knock it back to the defenders, giving the defending team time to reproup.

So I found myself at Anfield last night watching a Dua Lipa concert with my daughter and her friends 😩🤣

Hadn’t been for a few years and had never sat in the part I was in before - high up in the main stand.

Impressive stadium. They’ve obviously spent a lot on the internals - nice toilets, plenty of food and drink options etc. Hoping the World Famous City Ground can improve stuff like this during the redevelopment as those aspects certainly do need an upgrade.

Only thing I was disappointed in was the obscured view of the rest of the stadium by the roof. Could see the pitch area ok, but when I’m in a footy stadium I do like to be able to see all of the rest of the stands. I dare say they didn’t have much option but to make it that way due to the size/footprint of things. Just felt it was a bit of a shame.

I wouldn’t say I’m a “stadium nerd” but it’s nice when an old and original stadium can redevelop itself rather than having to move to a new site and rebuild. Obviously there are some amazing new ones though. Never been but I hear that Spurs have done a good job and also hear good reports of Everton’s new one.

This has been a key feature of both the U21's and U-19s. The teams, when on a break, do not seem to be afraid to try a through ball that might not come off, whereas at senior level, unless it is 95% certain that they can make the pass, they would rather recycle the ball.

U-19 final tonight Spain v Netherlands @7pm (can be seen on UEFA TV) (both teams won their groups with 100% records, then Netherlands comfortably dispatched Romania in the Semi followed by the 6-5 farce that saw Spain beat Germany - given spains ability to concede goals...I'm going to pick the Netherlands to win)

U-21 final on Saturday England v Germany 8pm (channel 4 ?)

The U21 final should be very interesting, Germany were highly efficient and ruthless in the early stages of last nights semi-final, but were then battered for 70 minutes by France who simply could not kick the ball properly when they got in the box. Eventually as France tired, Germany saw a couple more chances fall their way and administered the Coup de Grace in time added on. They've got a big bloke up front - Woltemade - who could be the subject of some transfer interest after the tournament has ended. I think England will have plenty of chances...but Germany will be very dangerous....look quick on the counter attack.

So whilst Dua Lipa was doing her thing on stage, you was more interested in the stadium??? 🤯

Wow you really are a nerd 😉

But did you enjoy Dua Lipa? 😅

You have seen Dua Lipa???

Ha ha! Not particularly a Dua Lipa fan but like a couple of her songs. I know you probably aren't talking about her musical talent though! ;)

She was but a dot, very far away from where I was, but thank goodness for big screens when it came to observing the finer details of her outfits (or lack of them!)

My nerdy appreciation of the stadium was mostly during the long wait before she came on, in defence of myself!

Good news if true…

Jadon Sancho will travel to Turin for his Juventus medical — deal done.

£25m total package agreed, with United set to pay Sancho £4m to cover the wage gap for 1 year, meaning a net profit of £21m.

Sancho has accepted Juve’s £170k/week offer.

A huge hit financially, but an even bigger problem solved. Let’s hope he’s the first with a stinking attitude out of the door this summer.

Are you working as an accountant for City as well? 😂

I believe you still have one more payment of £17m to Dortmund this year so that number is going to be a bit smaller again. It's mitigating the loss, better than nothing and an essential clear out for you.

Ha, I wish although I guess we can also add £5m to the total as Chelsea paid us the cancellation fee! :ROFLMAO:

Knew it was good too good to be true….

“Juventus and Napoli are unwilling to match Sancho's salary demands.

Both clubs have no problem in paying the £25m fee but his wages are a problem.”

Fenebache are willing to meet Sancho’s wage demands but he doesn’t want to go there.
