Interesting article, and answers a lot of the questions raised here.

When the club is telling fans that they need to reduce discounts and increase ticket prices because of a risk of PSR then someone says they are fine to spend £160mil

That’s got to have some eyebrows being raised

And then they were only able to get past PSR with exceptional allowance but fined by UEFA

Or does it show just how murky they whole PSR , FFP is ?

When Chelsea can just be allowed to sell their own team to themselves to avoid PSR just shows what a waste it is

Indeed!

I’ll be honest, even I was starting to wonder how United could dive straight into the market like this, not so much because of the absence of European football, but because I had also been sucked into the belief that we had to sell in order to buy.

Then I heard Amorim had been given c.£100m to spend regardless of player sales. So, in the event a number of players are moved on for a fee, it would seem that he may have a significant amount more at his disposal.

Going to be an interesting summer. And the failure to win in Bilbao is looking more like a blessing with each passing day. No midweek distractions, a significant squad overhaul likely, and a manager who will have time to work with that squad.

The time to judge Amorim will be this time next year.
Bumped into an old pal in ASDA after the golf today. I remembered he was a Utd fan. He still has a season ticket and goes to every home game. I asked him re Amorin. By all accounts nigh on everyone that goes on the bus agrees he should be given time. Furthermore, he/ they reckons the squad needs a good clear out. His Missis However said “ my husband wastes his bloody money every two weeks and does nothing but moan when he gets home” 😂😂

As I’ve said from the get go, I don’t understand PSR or FFP. Never have, never will.

But given the activity in the market so far, what this fella is saying has to stack up, regardless of previous media articles. Splashing huge amounts of cash before a single sale would be a kamikaze approach if what he says isn’t accurate.

Sounds like almost every fan I speak to!

Unless he is factoring in the players going to balance but the losses at the club have been announced

The likes of Rashford , Garnacho etc will be pure profit

Telling the fans that cuts need to be made across the club and ticket prices had to be raised etc because of PSR and then there is no PSR issue ?

Man Utd one season just getting past PSR because of allowances and then being fine for spend £150mil ? Seems very strange

Looking at another report it seems that a big loss from 3 years ago drops off the figures (around £130mil ) which gives some head room

I think Billy part of the problem is we never see 99% of what is actually happening during the transfer window. And part of what we do see is rammel written by the press. Am sure there is loads going off at every club, we only see some end results.

No.
Oh, and the rumours are that Gyokeres will not insist on joining a club with Champions League football.
I know he and Amorim have a huge amount of respect for one another,
Just saying. 🤞

I’m hearing lots of positive rumours now about Gyokeres.

Does that mean they will be allowed to go over the limit that other teams were fined and docked points for.

I can see Everton and Forest not being happy about that.!

Double standards and the Don who think bid clubs are protected will be proven right.
What a mess 🤡🤡🤡

Exceptional allowances ( covid losses etc, takeover ) etc allowed them write off some losses for the club to be around £3mil under the allowed level of losses

When the next calculation happens losses of around £130mil won’t be counted but they also won’t have the allowances so they have head room to spend

The main club that’s going to have to sell players is Villa

Big club? Just one trying to buy some success

In order to pacify this forum, I think it’s long overdue that the football authorities issued an immediate transfer embargo on all clubs, meaning that each is responsible for nurturing their own players from the cradle to the grave.

I mean, why should a club be allowed to spend money to improve their squad? It’s an utter outrage.

🙄

This is potentially massive for Palace. And not in a good way.

It could benefit Forest if Palace can’t find a way through this - but I wouldn’t be happy about it. Palace deserve it, as do their fans.
