Always some circumstances - has it happened before ?

Can’t recall it with anyone leaving a club either is transferred for a free or waits until the contract ends

Cant recall many contracts being terminated to benefit the club the player is going to

Madrid are well known to want to get players for free - so if they want him for free he signs when his contract ends

I wouldn’t expect Madrid to allow someone to leave early to benefit another club

If they really want him for the CWC then there is a method there for them to achieve that
If Madrid were mutually allowing a player to leave for free, I am sure they would absolutely allow that player to leave early. Why wouldn't they?

If Madrid didn't want that player to leave the club, but the player said it was happening anyway, then perhaps Real Madrid would keep hold of that player until the final day of their contract, paying them £1 million in the process. But, I think everyone in here would agree that the logic for doing so would be bitterness, and nothing to do with business.

It was only a few days ago most of us in here were slating Real Madrid for certain behaviors, so I'm not sure it is the best argument to compare what Liverpool do to what you think Real Madrid would do in the same situation.

"The grass isn't always greener on the other side"?

Perhaps, but that implies that sometimes, the grass is actually greener on the other side. Some of those individuals are going to feel distraught if he has any sort of success at Madrid.

Why are people so bothered by what some Liverpool fans think about a player leaving ?

Mutually allowing a player to leave for free ?

That’s not what’s happening

Trent is leaving when his contract ends at the club - the club have offered him new ones and he has turned it down , the club didn’t want him to leave they wanted him to stay - there is no “mutually allowing him to leave on a free”

The club don’t have a choice come 1st July when he can sign for anyone

Until then he is under contract at Liverpool - if Madrid want to be able to sign him before that contract ends then they can pay for him when the window opens on the 1st June or Trent can pay out the rest of his contract

Liverpool don’t want him to go 🤷‍♂️

Did you read the second paragraph of what I said, or did you just read the first line and write your reply?

So why are you going on about mutually leaving for free 🤷‍♂️ - it’s irrelevant apart from just adding a paragraph

The situation is very simple

Trent is a contracted Liverpool player until 30th June

Want to sign him before that then pay for it

The club won’t just let him go for nothing to suit another club and I wouldn’t expect any club to let a player go for nothing before their contract ends

If it was irrelevant, why didn't you just reply to the relevant bit, instead of the irrelevant bit?

So why are you so bothered if some fans take it a bit more to heart than others - maybe you don’t understand the connection when it comes to a local player
Why are you grilling me on this, I was only replying to someone else?

I couldn't give two hoots what individual Liverpool fans think about it. Some will not care and happy enough with Bradley. Some will be crying their eyes out for months. Some will start some sort of hate filled campaign against TAA, and take every opportunity to tell the world that Liverpool is the greatest club in the world.

I simply watched a very short video of what someone else posted, and made a very short comment on what one or two of those individuals were saying.

As I pointed out, and you agreed with me, RM are offering to pay out the contract. What are you still arguing about?

How long should they talk about the upcoming game ?

They spent about 20 mins on it earlier after going through the ref stuff

It’s the same every single time other clubs play.
Except it's not, if it's City, Utd, Liverpoo or Arsenal it's non stop just not any other clubs. Take your rose tinted glasses off fgs.

There is always going to be the odd extreme reaction across fans when a player leaves

Trent is a local lad and for a lot of the young lads someone to look up to - playing for your home club and living the dream , it wasn’t that long ago he was declaring his desire to captain the club to glory and live out his career there

But he has decided to go down a different path - I have no doubt Madrid have been at him for a few years now to get to this point where they don’t pay for him , it’s a regular thing for them

Some will question if he has strung club along with contract talk and always wanted to go to Madrid

The timing for me is prob because he wants to get out early to play in the CWC for them

Also with the state of Madrid right now it’s an intriguing choice

But it’s his to make - many will see him a little differently now within the city , he won’t be alongside the like of Gerrard etc but then I don’t think he has ever had that strong a connection - fans prob more connected to the likes of Salah

It’s a shame he is leaving because I think he is a quality player and we will miss his ability - he should do well in Madrid but next season will be interesting for them , any issues he does have the fans won’t be sympathetic about it or give him any sort of leeway
The odd, there are 1000's of you blerks saying and doing it. total embarassment to the club and themselves
