Very disappointed to hear Summerville is going under the knife. Even more disappointed he refused surgery for months to try other methods (against the medicals team advise) now the surgery is more complex.

I feel that whilst you can't force players to have ops the clubs should get more protection that if players go against medical advise they can be docked wages until they are fit again

But it does make a mockery of VAR when two refs see it and decided it’s still a red

As if we needed any more incidents to make a mockery of VAR?!?

In the Spurs v Forest game a couple of weeks back, apparently there was a period of time during the game that VAR wasn't available because a fire alarm went off in the building and they evacuated.

Everyone else in the building heard the fire alarm and knew it was a fire alarm. People outside the building heard the fire alarm and knew it was a fire alarm. But the guys in the VAR room spent five minutes making sure it definitely was a fire alarm before they decided to leave.

Why was he doing that? Is he a bible basher who was relying on the power of prayer? Was he going the old Felix Magath route and rubbing it with a lump of cheese?

I think (though obviously I don't know the lad personally), that it was the former.
It's a difficult situation, I'm pretty sure it would be illegal/unethical to force someone to go under the knife.
And no operation is 100% safe. Stuff goes wrong sometimes.
Given that we would have been unlikely to have finished much higher this season, and hoping he won't miss too much of the next, it's probably not ended as badly as it might.

Sounds about right tbh. He thanked god in his update

Seriously need to stop paying players who go against medical advise .. by all means your body your choice but If you ignore a Dr your wages are say halfed until your fit
