Not sure what that’s got to do with anything - let’s stick to football instead of going a little bit personal should we

Tell you how you should be feeling ? You can feel how ever you want. I know it’s hard to deal with when people are critical about the club you support especially when it’s doing that badly right now but you need to find a way to deal with it

No one said you can’t stick with your opinion 🤷‍♂️

But I’ll also stick to my opinion that they will take the club further backwards

As for who would come in - anyone who would have bought the full club look stock and barrel , with a touch of football knowledge - tough ask.

You deciding what people post and if it’s “worthwhile” or not - is not really the way to go

Said a few times that making the right decisions football wise is key - and so far those decisions have been poor

Ashworth
ETH staying on
And potentially Amorin who appears to have no flexibility within his tactics

Just because someone is a very successful “businessman” doesn’t mean he will be successful in running a football club

As for Southgate- he is a very negative manager , he might well have made Man Utd a touch tougher to beat , might have got more out of the squad that Amorin is

But right now it’s looking like Man Utd may well have their worst season since they were relegated , last season was their worst in the Prem
I'll assume you have repeated yourself again, so I'll save myself the effort of reading it on this occasion :)

I suspect the stadium itself will not necessarily get money but the work they do in the surrounds will. Same as other development projects. I'm sure the money aspect will be heavily scrutinised but projects like this can be a real benefit to the area.

There is a lot of figures being published about it

92,000 jobs create
Add 7.3 bn to the economy
17,000 homes created

A lot of regeneration

I can see a lot of public funding being used

And what will it do to the ticket prices - of which United fans are already protesting about

United were the blueprint when they extended Old Trafford - the Glazer taking money out stopped them from continuing to invest in the stadium

If you have ever followed big project claims then you will know that the figures quoted are as worthless as a very worthless thing. Figures plucked out of the air to sound good. It will however create lots of temporary jobs, some new jobs, new buildings and businesses around the area and some new houses, perhaps. Not the guff spoken but there will be good come out of it.

Oh I agree - only have to look at the regeneration from 2012

But those highlight figures will get some dribbling at the mouth and throwing money at it

Edit - what it does show is how far detached football is

A club that’s £1bn in debt , owes further £400mil in transfer fees

Is looking to spend over £2bn on a new stadium

Must be a slow news day when it’s Skys breaking news

A new stadium can only be good for mufc and Manchester itself.
I don’t know about the funding but I saw an interview with Andy Burhnam who I have a lot of respect for and he thought it would be good for the north and Manchester itself.

If Utd’s stadium capacity went up by 25,000 will it make that much difference to their fortnightly income? Is their current stadium too costly to run?

They needed to move 20 years ago. Is now a good business decision? Servicing the debt would be horrendous. Surely they need CL money to make it a viable business proposition…

Why would a mid table, potential relegation club spend big? ;) :ROFLMAO:

Seriously Phil, you could cut your post count in half easily if you stopped repeating yourself 👍🏻

I think this is fantastic news for Man Utd and the north in general. That's a serious statement to not only go with the new stadium, but making it 100,000 and the biggest in the country by far. Liverpool are done expanding Anfield and this will hold nearly 40,000 more with a lot more executive seats, which will bring in revenue hand over fist. I'm not sure on the external design though, it looks like the designers have tried too hard to be whacky. Hopefully the actual plans get toned down a bit.

I'm certain with Neville on board and his links to Labour/Burnham they will get a lot of funding for this. Whether it's fair or not remains to be seen but having that ground there will bring in huge benefits to Manchester and the country, so I don't see a real issue with it. It will transform the whole area. Salford Quays and the areas around it have changed massively over the years but this will take it to the next level.

This was the only option Radcliffe could take IMO, it's clear on the pitch the club is going to be years from challenging for the title and CL, so now is the time to invest off the pitch and rebuild properly.

CL money is massive and it’s crucial for Man Utd to be in the CL

We lost up to £80mil last season by not being in the CL , missing out for a number of seasons will have a huge knock on affect financially and also being able to attract players

It's just in the press is all, nothings overly changed. Commentary say anything to fill dead air. There was a few times yesterday they said stuff where like "todibo coming off after 60 mins not sure if he has a knock" when in past what 2-3 games it's been the same so it's a lack of research. Just saying what they think not what they know

Paquata could get a lifetime ban. The fact is tho he is still innocent, and it should never have been leaked by someone at the fa until they were ready to charge him. Also it's gone to civil court rather than criminal court were a lot of people who understand these things more than me say something about the 51% rule to prove guilt. Not sure how well a lifetime ban would hold up in an appeals court on 51%

End of the day it's just money, if he isn't banned he will be sold for say 50 million let's just put that price there.. if he is banned we have lost 50 million but we won Europa from his pass.. we have had signing like Haller, vlasic and scamacca signed for over 30 mil each then sold for a lot less so it's just writing off of funds.

In reality the fa have just saved city money as the deal for 80 million was happening but they leaked the reports to get city out of the deal

Quick add, Paqueta was also charged with two breaches of FA Rule F3 in respect of alleged failures to comply pursuant to FA Rule F2, which relates to providing information and documents.

This for example is complete rubbish, he handed his phone over when first requested, they had it like 3 months and returned it. He had a new phone by then because he's rich. Let's be honest .. just get a new phone. He then got rid of it and when asked for it 3 months later he gets that

You had it 3 months. You returned it. If you didn't find what you were looking for you weren't doing your job

I'm certain the insurance will cover this sort of thing.

On to tonight

Massive game - PSG showed how good they are in the away game

They are certainly going to score tonight

I’m just happy we don’t have to listen to Ferdinand’s drivel
It's on amazon prime but it's streaming all the time!
It's unwatchable.
Anybody else having problems?
