Joey Barton has just become a caricature of himself at this point. Just says stuff with the sole purpose of annoying people and getting a reaction. He’s the male version of Katie Hopkins.
And like her, the best thing to do is just ignore. Ignore the posts, comments etc. Let them both witter into the ether. Responding just gives them the clicks and oxygen they are so desperate for.

With the new stupid rule in regards GK’s time wasting I was thinking about subs

During the second half there is prob over 5 mins plus of time wasted on subs

I was watching the wife play hockey on Saturday and it’s all rolling subs ?

Why can’t they do that in football - the game doesn’t need to stop for a sub , the 4th official can sort it out and then the clubs can just sub the player at the appropriate time without the need to stop the game 🤷‍♂️

Can’t see why it couldn’t work in football

Totally agree @Arthur Wedge It's worked well in hockey for years so it is not something that is out of the blue or untested. Subs from the 85th minute onwards are all about time wasting, this would nullify that.

I'm not against the GK rule. It might be a bit gimmicky but it will add a bit of fun with the fans and hopefully stop the worst excesses.

It will be enforced for a couple of games then die out, just like the players who are substituted leaving by the shortest route. Never happens nowadays, they all shake hands, clap the crowd and then saunter off towards the bench, even if they are next to the touchline and could be off the pitch in 3 steps.

Sadly, I think you are right. I did see a report where in games that it's been trialled the fans get involved in the countdown, chanting the numbers out. If that happens it should help to shame the officials into enforcing the rule. We will see.......

So the full and final FA Cup Quarter Final draw is:

Brighton v Nottingham Forest
Preston v Aston Villa
Fulham v Crystal Palace
Bournemouth v Man City

Over the past few days I've seen/heard a number of Tweets/comments from pundits and fans alike saying this is the worst Quarter Final line-up for a long time.

What am I missing here? One team hasn't won it since the 1930s, two teams haven't won it since the 1950s and five teams have never won it at all. I'd have thought that makes for an almost perfect line-up, no?

I mean, I suppose I can hazard a guess as to why some people would say this. But is the FA Cup really not as interesting at this stage because The Preferred Six aren't dominating the draw? 🤔

@Don Barzini I think it's the best line up I've seen in years. I might actually watch the semis and final this year. It's great to see different teams there, someone different from the norm. Sorry City fans but I hope Bournemouth win the qf for this exact reason.

Hopefully City do get knocked out and we see 4 teams that haven’t won much in recent years battle out for a major trophy

It just shows how football has changed this season especially.
Apart from Preston and to a degree Man City, all the rest have youth, pace and willing to run and be together as a team up until the final whistle. None of this tippy tappy stuff and mostly really exciting to watch.
So for me the last eight makes for some great games to watch.
Oh, and the seagulls are flying high! 😎 👍

I'd usually be in this boat, but having not beaten Bournemouth in TEN YEARS, I'd fancy our chances more against Pep's super team than Bournemouth, so for that reason, COME ON YOU BLUES.

Watched a match at the weekend and a player went down injured.

They waited until the injured player had left the field ( 2 mins) before making 5 substitutions.
They could have done the four not including the injured player while he had treatment but waited for him to be replaced first.
Don’t understand the logic there as they were replacing him anyway.

Time for a Timekeeper it will take the guesswork out of it!

Crazy IF true.
Funny how people believe “paper talk”tho when it suits 🤔

I think United need to be very careful offering new contracts just now. Especially when it comes to Mainoo and Garnacho. I think one of them is likely to have to be offloaded in the summer if Amorim is going to be given anything like a modicum of control over moulding a squad to meet his demands.
