Seems a bit early for April Fools

Wasn’t there already an 8 second rule where the team got an in direct free kick that refs have ignored - 🤷‍♂️

The current rule is only 6 seconds, I can’t understand how this new rule is going to make a difference.

The IFAB also voted to continue offside trials in which the attacker will be ruled onside if his torso is level with the second to last defender.
I didn’t know this was being trialled. A good move if they implement this rule.

Heading out of Manchester, 6 hour drive home.

Are City fans banned from singing 🎶? 😅

The foul on Mateta has been overhyped. Yes it was poor but Mateta barged the defender off the ball seconds before so only has himself to blame. If you give it then be prepared to take it.

He’s probably posted a pic of you on his socials, ripping you for your crocs 😂
A bloke wearing a back to front Rudolph t shirt to a game can hardly have the high fashionable moral ground. 😂
Joking aside I felt a bit sorry for him. He really did look
Like he had Parkinsons and he went to Athens to watch a game and didn’t have a ticket. He Didn’t know the old Panathanikos ground is shut when he got there. Oddly enough he has been all over Europe watching football, yet he does not own a mobile phone, but has a wad of cash in his pocket ( his words).
The Olympic stadium
Is another of those mega stadiums that is now a white elephant. The game itself was like watching Rochdale v Man Utd. 😖

Let's see how consistent the fa are once again

Kudus got 5 match ban for this handbags

If cuhna doesn't get at least a 6 game ban considering he was previously banned for punching a member off the back room staff then some serious questions need asking

Clearly a talented player but that's twice he has assaulted someone this season

You're surely not saying they are equivalent incidents? Mateta was too strong for the defender, he was then assaulted. Even had the ref called the Mateta tackle a foul, he didn't, it wasn't close to what happened to him in return.

Mateta shoulder barged the defender off the ball, which ironically then put him in the way of the keeper, who clearly went for the ball. He took the ball cleanly and it was only after he caught Mateta, who was in a weird position after his barge. Tough luck and definitely no assualt. The game has gone if we're giving reds for that after a few minutes as it ruined a potentially good cup tie.

You are clearly deluded. I would not be surprised if the keeper is banned for more than the statuary 3 matches.
He is clearly out of control. At one point both his feet are at head height. The replays are sickening to watch. Just because he gets the ball it is not a mitigating factor.
How you can say it is tough luck for Mateta I do not know.
The game is gone if we are NOT giving reds for that.

Assaulted? No need to be over dramatic. Keeper has cleanly won the ball but it was the follow through that caught Mateta. Nothing malicious but certainly falls into the dangerous play catergory. How on earth is Micheal Oliver our best referee? How he never gave the foul and red card without VAR's asisstance is beyond me. Then hearing Millwall's fans gleefully singing about Mateta being in A&E was rancid. Disgusting set of "fans"

Mateta is stood upright and needs 25 stitches around his ear due to the keepers boot. I think that is pretty close to assault. He's completely out of control and reckless.

Totally agree about the reaction of the Millwall fans. Not a lot you can say about them that's positive with incidents like that. A million miles away from rivalry or banter.

Really?

The keeper’s foot was at head height. A player is responsible for all the consequences of his actions even if he gets the ball first.

As for when in a game a red should or shouldn’t be given, if a foul warrants a red a red should be given. The time is totally irrelevant.
