I can hardly stop laughing.
So many complaining about a bad refereeing decision, and rightly so, but when there's VAR many just complain and say let's get rid of it!
Officials are humans, they make mistakes, that'll never change

Well the good thing about the semi auto it remove that’s human element but that offside last night looks very bad - how can they not see that

Can only think they are now programmed to not raise their flag and waiting for VAR to sort it

Linesman wasn't looking at it from the TV camera. As I said, he'll see Maguire and a mess of players other side of him. He doesn't have xray vision, so at eye level he is clearly seeing a very different picture

If he was on other side of pitch, he probably gets it right, as he'll see the guys ahead of Maguire are Utd players.

VAR sorts these out every week, where we see goals being ruled out for being a decent amount offside, after linesman doesnt get it right. So, shouldn't come as a shock that linesmen don't get every decision right.

Maybe this will result in a mass demonstration for VAR to be used in all games, rather than scrapping it.

That’s a lot of waffle

Not sure how big Maguire is but he isn’t big enough to block the view of the guy who is even further offside

It’s a howler from the linesman

No problem, your opinion. You are welcome to go down the usual angle of "officials are incompetent" every time they make a mistake. And I'll raise an eyebrow next time you talk about respecting the officials.

Seen thousands of worse offside calls than that. Good chance he can't see Zirkzee clearly at all. Maguire isn't exactly 10 yards offside either. So, from my opinion, and error, Utd got lucky, but nothing more than that.

I guess we have not had an incorrect offside to talk about for many years. So it's all good fun.

You can see the person who is further offside than both Maguire and Zirkzee yes ?
The player that the linesman can see clear as day

I have circled him to help

Not at the moment, no. We’re worse than we were under ten Hag. But I’m not sure too many expected immediate improvement given the change in system.

There are some positives in all this. Zirkzee’s response to being hooked first half a few weeks ago has been absolutely first class. He’s got his head down, puts a shift in, and I still maintain that he does some decent stuff. He’s slowly finding his feet, although I’m not sure his future is long term. And Mazraoui never disappoints. He’s a really versatile defender.

But Mainoo is a shadow of the player we saw last season. If United have to jettison a homegrown player in the summer to make way for some incomings then, unless he bucks his ideas up, he is likely to be the one shown the door.

What’s going on with Mainoo , had the world at his feet 12 months ago , clearly a very talented player but looks a shadow of himself

Has he had some injuries or a drop in form or doesn’t suit the way the manager plays ?

This debate should end, as I think someone is seriously shifting some goal posts now.

I assumed the complaints were about Maguire being offside. You now seem to.be suggesting it should have been seen as offside as the guy you circled is interfering with play.

He wasn't

Multiple players were offside

The linesman was right in line , if he can’t see that Maguire was offside and 2 others then he isn’t fit for the job

It’s incompetence, it’s not a subjective call

It’s not even a close one where you can give him a bit of leeway

How Mr Potato Head wasn't flagged offside at that level is amazing.
Lino had a shocker there.

I listen to desert island discs a lot this morning I put on the time Ian Wright was on. (I have heard it before).

I expect many know about his upbringing and it’s something I can relate to, there’s not many things that have moved me as much as listening to his story.

Back to the football, he couldn’t understand why some players don’t smile anymore when scoring, they seem to like posing more than expressing the sheer joy of which Ian Wright always showed when scoring.

It's incompetence when you think a linesman should flag for players not interfering with play

He loved playing , you could tell that he just put everything into playing because he seemed to believe he was very lucky to be there and when he did score he just burst

Can’t remember many having too many bad words to say about him - a humble player
