Seen a Forest player lose a wrestling match and get a pen because the other player was stronger!

Do you think it was handball in the build up to one of the goals?

Are you suggesting that wasn’t a foul on MGW for the penalty then?

As to your second point, yes Sangare did handle the ball during the build up to Neco Williams’s goal. But it was non-deliberate and happened as a result of the defender bundling into the back of him. Maybe the referee played the advantage, I don’t know. Had Neco not scored a goal at that point, I would guess there would have been a decision for the referee and VAR to make on whether he was fouled or not and therefore whether or not it was a penalty. And then we could all have spent several pages of this forum debating it.

Not sure why the Liverpool penalty is deemed soft by some, I thought it was stone wall? I know it was accidental, but defender clips legs and Gapko trips up as a result. If accidental contact wasn't deemed a penalty, then there would never be an incentive for a defender to be careful when running back on the wrong side of the attacker.

What broke my heart more was the chance Kluivert missed just before Salah got the 2nd

Just watching the Bournemouth v Liverpool game, it looks a good one. Thought it was a penalty although soft.Fhe non reaction of the Bournemouth players seemed to endorse it for me. What I am surprised about is the non reaction to Mcallister not getting a second yellow. How kicking someone 5 ft in the air is not deemed a yellow is beyond me.

Scored about 600 goals in two weeks and somehow misses an open net from 6 yards out. Where was this dip in form last week?? 😂

Well, Rashford and Asensio have had “here we go’s” so looks like Villa have been busy!

Done a lot of business this window, mostly for the better!

Going to be very interesting seeing Rashford in a Villa shirt, but he’s coming in under a great coach/ manager who gets the best out of players. Fingers crossed it goes well!

Blimey the Arsenal fanbase have gone mental on social media when it comes to the refs

It’s amusing seeing them and even City fans going mad about referees when both have been on the end of some very favourable decisions over the last 18 months

I’ve watched it over and over and I’ll concede now there was the merest of clashes between the legs of the defender and the attacker. Genuinely couldn’t see it yesterday when I was commenting on here from looking at the clips on Twitter.

But I guess I’m old school. I don’t like seeing those sorts of incidents being given as penalties. No one can convince me that the contact was enough to make Gakpo fall over, no way he was brought down as a result. He deliberately clipped the back of his own leg with his other foot to make it look worse than it was and it got the result Liverpool desired, so well done to him I guess.

It’s the inconsistency over this sort of stuff that’s frustrating. A Bournemouth fan linked on Twitter to a clip of one of their players going down under contact from two Liverpool defenders in the reverse fixture earlier in the season. Far more in that challenge, yet no penalty given, surprise surprise.

Either we’re in the territory where as a defender you can’t fart near an attacker in the box without giving a penalty, or we aren’t. It just seems different game to game and week to week.

So yeah. I see why it was given. But I don’t agree with it, personally.

😂😂😂😂

Deliberately clipped the back of his own leg

In your own words yesterday

“Please tell me this is a joke”

A player is running at pace , a clip at the right time is all that’s needed to trip someone up

To suggest that someone deliberately clipped the back of his own leg at pace is laughable at best

I’m not even sure if it’s possible to deliberately trip yourself up in the way he did when running with the ball at pace

Why would he do it when he will be clear on goal and a chance to score himself

Can’t bear hug a player last time I checked?

In previous seasons, probably would have been given as handball but Sangaré got tangled with the defender, both went down and incidental contact based on how they’re treating handball decisions this season. Gave Neco a much deserved (and overdue) 1st goal, so I won’t complain
Happens in every game but pens are hardly given.

Handballs 50/50 but very little consistency from refs.

Given the holding that goes on in the penalty area I’m as certain as you are Gakpo tripped himself up.😳

I agree it should have been.
But his first was a joke ,he just stood still and the player just ran into him.
You don’t have to get out of the way, and think the ref knew he had made a mistake.
Two wrongs imo.

Similar to the Doku one in the chest on Mcallister for a penalty that wasn’t given 😳

If it doesn't, you just hand him back. No risk

Darn it. That could be Martinez out for a long time with a nasty knee injury. Just hoping it isn't as bad as it looks.

Classic Utd. Some decent play, put Mainoo up as No. 9 so ultimately still rubbish in front of goal. Then Palace score from a set piece
