Seems to be a little movement transfer wise at OT now. It looks like a deal for Dorgu is almost done, which is positive.

What still concerns me is that the rumours regarding outgoings relate almost exclusively to loan moves. Casemiro to Roma is being rumoured, but only a loan deal. Antony to Real Betis, another loan. Virtually every rumour regarding Rashford includes the word loan. And I’m not hearing that any of them include an obligation to buy.

Permanent departures has to be a priority with some of these players, surely.

Must be the huge wages the players are on - can’t see many giving a fee for any of them at the moment because the wages the players are on loans will have some sort of wage share with the Hope they play well enough for a club to stump up

I'm certain permanent departures is very much the priority. But, getting clubs to buy them is another story. Even if we were to give them away for free, how many clubs want to pay the wages these players would expect?

How may fans of other clubs in here would like Rashford, Casemiro or Antony at their club on a permanent contract, given how dire Utd have been?

Maybe some clubs willing to take the risk on a loan deal. But not stuck with them for 3 or 4 years

Looking forward to see the 62 yr old goalie coach making his debut.😉😳

I can't believe Rashford thinks Barca want him or he's even good enough to play for them.

None of them would get in my Subbuteo team.

Everton had this issue a few years ago. Multiple managers, all buying their own players, some of them panic buys. Few came off but we were stuck with them as their wages were excessive in comparison to their talent, familiar story? All have finally been moved on but mostly due to their contracts running out. We loaned them out but teams wouldn't buy them, pretty sure we were paying a reasonable part of their salary as well. Financially disastrous time, so much money wasted in terms of both transfers and wages.

Utd are going through a similar spell now and it will cost you dearly. Even if you do manage to sell any of those problem players I suspect you will be quietly subbing their wages in one way or another. It's the wages of these guys that are the killers and no club in their right mind would take them on with the same terms.

I agree. The stadium itself will be paid for by the club and other funding (not sure from where) will 'develop' the immediate area.

I Imagine local council funding, at the end of the day Manchester benefits hugely from having OT and 80k+ fans there every week spending money.

Lucky them. I wonder why that area is more deserving of funding than the areas around the rest of the grounds in the UK? 🤔

Birmingham were putting funding in to train stations etc around Villa Park as part of our expansion too, this isn't uncommon. Public infrastructure investment helps support local economies.
