Just seen Troy Deeneys PL team of the week. I suspect he picks his defenders largely based on Fantasy Football points? He selected:

Guehi - 15 points
Konsa - 8 points
James - 7 points (played 34 minutes)
Robinson - 7 points

I'm not sure he puts much emphasis on defending. I'd have happily put a decent bet that Murillo would make the team of the week. But, he only had 3 fantasy football points, so perhaps Deeney ruled him out, or just didn't watch the game.

No I don’t expect them to sell any of them

Still expect at the very minimum Mo and VVD to stay

Trent 50/50 at the moment
But at what cost? ie wages, surely even keeping them you need to strengthen? Part of Klopp’s problems was that he tended to buy ready made players, his record of bringing Youth Players through wasn’t the best.

Maybe it’s because things like Nett Spend and Oil money gets thrown about.

When Klopp left he had 1/2 the Nett Spend of Pep, but only a 1/4 of the Trophies.

The season you won the League and CL many believe he should of been given more to spend and to keep yous at the top.

There are many ways to breakdown spending etc, but it can’t be denied just how much FSG have made on their initial investment and some would like to see more of it spent on players.

When we won the league we brought in Jota , Thiago and Kostas

Again what clubs have had more success over that period and have been run as well ?

The club spend the money they make

That’s been the way since the club was bought by them , the owners are not spending their own money to buy players and they aren’t taking out loans etc to buy players

They said it would be self sustaining and it is

And so far they haven’t made any money on their investment because they still own the club.

FSG can do no wrong in some peoples eyes.

Paid £300m to buy Lpool and now worth £4Billion.

Got a nice ground though.😇

Lots of their fans think more could of been and should been spent on strengthing the Squad.

FSG like to use Man City as the way not to spend.
The problem is if you look over the years, what have Liverpool won compared to City over those same years. I think that’s what fans have looked at.
Sheik Mansoor Paid £200 million for City. In 2022 Forbes valued City at £4.25 Billion.

I am with the Liverpool fans, a few more quid spent could of meant buying more silver polish.

You’ve just proved my point, to the majority of fans it’s about Trophies.

Surely it should be a balance, maybe City’s spending works out as more Trophies per money spent!

Man City have been financially cheating to allow them to spend £2.6bn in players

Hence the UEFA charges , hence the Prem 115 charges

I’ll take one League title won properly over 7 won through cheating using oil money

Just heard on the radio that Haaland has signed a 9 and a half year contract at City, keeping him there until 2034. That is a big commitment, although wonder how many clauses he has in that contract
Not bad for a player that was only staying a couple of seasons. 😁

One of the clauses was he has a release clause to let him go in 2029, but there is a big fee attached.

There is only one team that’s been more successful and that’s a team that’s currently facing 115 charges due to financial irregularities

Liverpool owe FSG £71million. This is more than 13 other clubs in the PL owe to their shareholders. You have very rose coloured glasses when it comes to LFC and maybe you need to take a bit more of a balanced view?

Not according to the web - but then we know you pick and choose your sources to match your views ;)

The financial records last released were for the years 22/23 , lastest ones including the dynasty investment of around £150mil to clear debt from building the stadium up

How else do clubs increase or build their own stadium

Well they were found guilty by UEFA

Delaying tactics allowed them to get out of it
Paid the uefa fine, no ban. PL still to decide

Was it worse than Liverpool tapping up vvd when he was at Southampton. Do the trophies with him in the team feel tainted? After all, you broke the rules to get him.

Liverpool are not pure, and that's before we get onto your part in trying to set up a new European league.

we didn’t sign him when we “tapped” him up

We made a significant bid to Soton and they accepted

UEFA Banned City , they got found guilty by them , a technicality allowed them to get away with it due to then delaying the investigation

And yes many clubs looked at creating a super league because of what UEFA was doing

No one said we were pure , but then no club is

But then no other club have had the same level of charges made against them as City have

If people think all their finances are legit then that’s their choice - Im very much in the belief that they have financially doped themselves to circumvent FFP rules

But going back to original point

I’ll take FSG as owners of the club over any of the clubs in the Prem

Re City and the 115 charges. I have said it before and continue to say it. I think they are guilty of breaking some of those charges. I have said this before. They had to. There was no way that City were getting anywhere near the top table unless they spent serious money. It started when they bought Robinho for £30 million. Everyones fa our ire second club at the time had just bought a world class player to come to a bang average club.
Yet look at the last report re have any clubs over spent. Not one. So City and other clubs have now got to a stage where they are sustainable. Yes sustainable but still a flawed system that favours the big clubs including us.
Yet Newcastle would like to do the same. Under the present strait jacket FFP rules which were set up by Crooks eg Platini etc. they have not got a cat in hells chance.
Having said all that. It’s down to the owners to run there clubs and if you looks at City, Utd and Liverpool. They all have owners that are a million miles apart.

This is actually a decent read

But again, from a fans point of view they count trophies.

One thing I did read. The other day. Klopp who is now an ambassador for red bull has ripped into Man City and the 115 charges and told the players that if found guilty he is having a party at his house in with the players in Mallorca. Because guilty charges against City make his achievements “ look better”. However.
Quote,
It is clearly in Klopp's interest that City's record is tarnished as his own record at Liverpool will be improved - however the irony is that he would not get more than his sole winner's medal even if City were stripped of all titles in the period under scrutiny.

Klopp arrived at Anfield in 2015, finishing eighth, fourth and fourth in the three seasons before the cut-off for the charges in 2018. He guided Liverpool to second place in 2019 as City won the domestic treble - leaving Liverpool second despite amassing 97 points - but Liverpool wouldn't get any retrospective title for that season.

The ironic thing is that if City were to get stripped of titles, Utd would get one under Mourinho. Not sure if Liverpool fans or Klopp would like that one either.

You tried to buy him in the Jan, after he’d gone on strike and you secretly flew him to Blackpool to meet Klopp.

Soton turned down your bid and threatened to report you to PL.

You and Soton agreed a deal, you massively upped your bid and they agreed not to report you!

Facts, facts, facts!

City’s behaviour is irrelevant in terms of how much FSG could or should of spent.
But it’s a good excuse because you think it only affected Lpool.

😂😂😂😂 I’m done 😂😂😂😂
