When you compare it to 'fast fashion' it's nothing. At least clubs go a season in a kit. Some retailers are changing 2, 3, 4 times a season, never mind a year.

There is a really simple way to fix this that doesn't need legislation. Fans could stop buying shirts for a season. If that's too much for them, 🙄, hold off for 2 months, make a point. Not everything needs legislation, people can be responsible for change as well.

Lol come on LT trust the general public to do the right thing? 30% will the rest will go oh it won't make a difference

Is it any different to the "want it now" culture that has given us Amazon prime, Deliveroo, and the like?

I thought the "want it now" culture existed when you had to go out and buy something, as you got it immediately.

It is more like the "buy it now, get it tomorrow, and don't get off your backside" culture

Deliveroo is just what ordering a take away was before. Difference is more choice now . That's all

Back to footy.

The matches between Anguilla v Turks and Caicos Islands and US Virgin Islands v British Virgin Islands in the World Cup qualifying should be crackers.

And there is a tasty friendly between Azerbaijan and Mongolia

Got to love International week....

What are people's favourite England kit of all time then?

Here's a full set of them: https://www.footballkitarchive.com/england-kits/#2010s

My top 3:

Worst 3:

The 1998 one actually came out in 1996, just after Euro 1996. Worn for 2 years including Le Tournoi and France 98. Loved that kit! Also liked the 2000-2003 red away that was reversible with a navy on the inside.

I don't think there will be anyone scoring in the US virgin Islands v British virgin Islands

209th v 206th and 207th v 208th in the FIFA rankings....that's a group of death if ever there was one.

Seems that the Germans are up in arms about Nike becoming their new national kit manufacturer after having Adidas as their supplier for 70 years.

Lord knows what Nike might come up with as an emblem to go on the German team shirt, in the name of "disrupting history with a modern take on a classic". :D

Leicester not taking things lying down!

From the article:

On Friday, the club announced they had taken "urgent" legal action against the Premier League and EFL.

A statement read: "LCFC will be seeking that each of these proceedings is determined by an appropriate and fully independent legal panel.

The club is committed to ensure that any charges against it are properly and proportionately determined, in accordance with the applicable rules, by the right bodies, and at the right time."

They aren't going to get the 2 points off for playing nicely then 😄.

I don’t know a lot about the Leicester situation other than it seems a bit of an anomaly when compared with that at Forest.

One of Leicester’s big problems last season, and it was cited as one of the main reasons they were relegated, is the fact that they remained largely anonymous on the transfer market because they had spent huge sums on a new training facility and had to try and balance the books by either selling players they had, or not recruiting. In short, they did not outwardly seek to gain an advantage and clearly didn’t - they were relegated, after all.

Forest, on the other hand, appeared to just spend, spend, spend. Their recruitment, outwardly, seemed unsustainable. They remained in the top flight.

There appears to be a good deal of disquiet at Leicester. It would seem that, having done all they could on the face of it to remain within the rules, and dropped a division largely as a consequence of that, they are still now looking at paying the price next season.

The whole saga relating to FFP, sustainability or whatever you want to call it is an utter mess. The one thing I think we can all be sure of is that there needs to be far greater clarity and transparency.

Big difference between starting point of the squads and relative wage bills. Leicester rumoured to have had the 15th highest wage bills in all of Europe last season and didnt do enough to reduce it this summer to be anywhere close to compliant it seems

That said seems both the EPL and EFL are breaking their own rules with how they are trying to charge them........

That’s the Bit I don’t understand and have issue with. I am led to believe that FFP Allows owners to spend as much as they want of there own money improving the infrastructure of there club. City have done that by making the stadium bigger, and it’s about to be made bigger. Building a 22, 000 indoor arena and installing hundreds of solar panels to go carbon free. None of it is included in the FFP budget. How’s that right. The Premier league say you can spend what you like on infrastructure but not players and salary’s.
The way FFP is going clubs will not be buying the Haalands, Salahs, KDB and MaguireS in the future because they will not be able to afford them.

Currently sat on a train waiting to depart Ipswich, on my way to Luton to support Newcastles Women against Hashtag United in the Women's National League Cup Final.

Both teams are in the third tier of the English Women's game. Newcastle are currently top of the Northern Premier League. Hashtag are currently second in the Southern Premier League.
