Why does it need an emoji?
Something as serious as sexual assault is far to serious a matter for emoji’s.
That's up to the OP but i didn't see anything in the post that made capital of the situation. Emoji's are used for near enough all matters now, they don't just have to be light hearted.

There is basically an emoji for everything. If someone reports some really sad news and used 😢 , I don't immediately thing that the person isn't taking the news seriously, or making light of the situation.

I honestly don't think there is an issue using emojis, certainly I didn't read it that Pin-seeker felt it was funny or great banter.

I might start a separate thread. What topics are such serious a matter that emojis of any kind should be banned. Or maybe not, I can imagine that thread will be shut down quickly

I think you could save us all a lot of pain by not starting that thread o_O . I can see the dark, dark hole already that we would be falling in to............

Sad to say that's why Arsenal won't win the title. Totally complacent and content to play for a 0-0 in Porto thinking the home game is a formality. It's OK smashing the likes of Burnley and West Ham but when it really matters there's still something missing there. Mindset and a world class striker IMO.

some judgement on one game, assume the games we won against Liverpool and Man City in the prem league didnt really matter either?

we werent at our best last night and a few individual errors were costly against a decent well organised Porto side. Lets see how they fare in the 2nd leg before passing sentence though maybe. or maybe we should be using the injuries excuse that others are?

from where we were 2 seasons ago its a massive improvement, so much so that fans of other clubs cant wait to criticise, maybe theyd like that 2 year improvement at their own club..................

I was thinking the same. Just hammered Burnly 5-0, West Ham 6-0 (both away). Beat Palace 5-0 end of January. Beat Liverpool 3-1 at start of this month. Also beat Man City this season.

One bad performance away in Portugal, and suddenly some think that is strong enough evidence to right them off. Yet most other of the best teams will have the odd poor performance and loss through the season. Pretty absurd.

If they lost the likes of Odegaard, Saka and/or Rice to injury, I could put forward a case they may start to struggle more. But with their best players fit, they certainly seem to be playing with enough confidence to contend and maybe win the PL

I didn't think it was a poor performance. They seemed relatively solid throughout and eeked a few chances. In the last few minutes it seemed a case of switching off and thinking it was job done and then got punished to a decent strike. I think there is enough quality in the side to get it done in the second leg

Think it was a case of being a bit niave

The game was very “bitty” - lots of fouls and not much football being played which didn’t really suit Arsenal

Going to be tough on the home leg - Arsenal have more than enough quality but Porto will be clever

Also have to say I think getting rid of the away goals rule is affecting the games

For sure Porto did everything to slow the game down and they will amp that up even more in the return leg, the ref did little to help but dont expect that to be any different either. Annoying we gifted them the late goal through 2 stupid errors when they'd shown no intent at home, which now allows them to do the same in the 2nd leg, but hard to be too critical when all bar 1 of the starting XI havent ever played a CL knockout game before.

No need to take everything so personal. Arteta has done a remarkable job turning Arsenal around and you're one of the better sides to watch in the league. I really hope you win the title this season.

The issue is we've seen it before with Arsenal, looking good when the pressure is off, then falling apart when it's on. Last night was a huge game and you didn't turn up. Porto aren't mugs but they're not a top side, they even had a 40 year old Pepe at the back. You go there and put on a show and it's a statement, wimper to a 1-0 defeat and it looks like same old Arsenal. Second leg will be a cracker though.

If they beat Porto 6-0 at home, will that be a statement enough to mitigate their flat away performance, and show they are in with a good chance of competing for the top trophies this season?
