Pretty rubbish to read that Salah's injury is worse than first thought.

Was hoping the title race might actually be competitive to the end but you just feel without Salah liverpool lose a significant edge!

He wasn’t really expected back until maybe the Burnley game anyway so will prob be another week or so after that - certainly have firepower to keep it going and then he comes back in for the run in

Well fingers crossed you've got enough to beat Burnley without him :ROFLMAO:

Just need a real title race this year, those last day wins etc are brilliant and I think we are really set up for one.

Do Villa have the depth of squad for a hard run in? I don’t know either way, just curious.

Maybe Liverpool are just saying that, to ensure he doesn't travel back to AFCON later in tournament. Not in their interest to get him fit in good time, only for him to fly back down to Africa for a few games that don't benefit Liverpool.

I agree, you don't like injuries to any player. However watching Liverpool without him I think they will still be very competitive, the players they have brought in to compliment him are working well without him.

Maybe but I think its a Mo decision and not a Liverpool one if he plays at AFCON.

The news that the injury was worse came from Egypt and the players agent - nothing to do with the club , if the club can help get him fit and back to play for his country to help them they will.

Hojlund looks like the sort of striker who would hugely benefit from a “chalk on his boots” winger. A right footer on the right/left footer on the left who either beats his man and whips on in or gets to the byline and pulls it back.

Given how the modern winger/wide forward has been switched for the best part of 20 years (Duff and Robben, with a slice of Henry before, being my first memories of) I do wonder how full backs would defend a “modern Giggs” for example.
I agree but am struggling to think of one in the PL.

Full backs are extra midfielders now the same as CB needing to be good on the ball.
Unfortunetly this is given precedent over actual defending ability.

The old club v country debate. They didn't look too bad the other night without him and think they will do a number on Fulham tomorrow

If you actually look at the stats of win percentage without Salah it’s quite good.

I reckon Wan Bissaka would defend well against that style of winger

Personally I'd have McCoist at #2 but he's more of a commentator isn't he

Of the rest, Keane and Souness seem more there for shock value these days and looking for a contentious point to argue about. Carragher ok as a commentator but I wouldn't rate any of the others that highly as either pundits or commentators with the exception of Ferdinand, Murphy and Shearer
