Isn't that what's starting with the Fulham v Burnley game. That has a female referee and while not a high profile or historically volatile fixture it will be interested to monitor the players behaviour

That's just a start. Bring them all . Replace the men, their useless

The sad thing is, as soon as a female referee makes a mistake, wait for the sexist remarks that she should be nowhere near the men's game.

The same statement could have been made about male pundits being useless, and look at the reaction of many when some women start doing the role (e.g. Joey Barton)

It's no excuse. Be professional or accept the consequences. If not, how do you decide when abuse and intimidation is acceptable? What decision gives you a pass?
I don’t think any decision gives you a pass. But as was mentioned earlier refs are isolated as is VAR. no one gets to hear there decisions until days later.
The comparison with rugby is a perfect example. You get to hear exactly what is going off at the time it is happening. Plus it helps that there is far less cock ups.

@Swango1980 Howard Webb wants people to hear the refs mic, it is the international board, IFAB I think it's called, that block that. I would love to be able to hear what's going on and I agree, I think it would stop a lot of the abuse.
I actually think Webb is trying to do good things and would be having a positive effect if he wasn't being made to work with both hands tied behind his back. They seem to have just appointed him purely to take the flak from fans and pundits and have all his ideas ignored.

Most of the problems come from self imposed rules just like VAR.
” we can’t do this because the rules say so”

Who makes all these stupid rules ?
Then they tell us it’s another board we have never heard of.

Or the jokes about bookings for making a foul in a previous game passed off as 'banter'?

Sadly we're not as forward thinking as we like to think. Equality is nowhere near where it could be. Having more representation is only a good thing, as is anything that makes Joey Barton look like a plank...!

Turkey, what the heck is happening there? A ref gets punched by a President last week, this week a President orders his team off the pitch because he didn't like a refs decision . They have serious issues.

IFAB. As part of their Advisory panel, they have:

Arsene Wenger
Hidetoshi Nakata
Daniel Amokachi
Aaron Hughes
Zvonimir Boban
Luis Figo

I suspect there must be ex-players / managers who have an input into the laws somewhere in the process

Arsene Wenger was well known for not seeing any decisions that benefited Arsenal so not sure what he brings to the table

Agreed. But as there is always criticism that these types of things need "football people", then I was just highlighting some names that could fit that profile. It is at that point where this request can come tumbling down, as people can then see the pitfalls of this, as demonstrated by yourself, when they see some of the individuals that would be involved, and inevitably see potential weaknesses to this.

Just proves even football people can make a mess of it.

I suspect they are the worse culprits. On one hand, they are accused of constant dissent, diving and just other means of cheating. On the other hand, they are the ones who champion themselves in making the laws of the game, and then helping to enforce them (by sitting in on VAR). It's a funny paradox.

The more people sitting in on VAR will just confuse things more! To many cooks!
Its already subjective from one ref to another.

probably need an AI bot

Looks like WHam didn't fancy a semi final in this cup. 🤔. Poor is an understatement.
Yes the lack of effort and fight is shocking.

Liverpool we’re very good and it could have been a lot worse for WH.

nice finish from Bowen but that was it!

So much more enjoyable to watch knowing VAR isn’t going to interfere.

Anfield still living in Moyes head

Illness affects the squad again apparently but it's no excuse for the lack of effort given

Poor subs again, should have shaken up at half time

That makes sense the players on the pitch looked knackered.
Liverpool not the team you want to face if you have problems.

yes half time was the time.
some players just not on it.
Bad day at the office ,it happens.

Same happened with the Fulham game , sickness bug but it's poor

Our first team is excellent however the back up isn't really there

Used to lose with Moyes but only by a goal that's 10 goals shipped in 2 defeats

Yes we have only lost 2 in 10 I think it is? But still the manner of the loss is ridiculous

However if we get the same response Saturday as we did the Thursday and Sunday after the Fulham game I'd take it

I've seen some turgid performances from Moyes's teams over the years, often with lesser quality sides but that was arguably #1.

For 70 odd mins they never looked like having a shot never mind scoring. The tactics were a carbon copy of ten Haags on sunday.

He often gets lauded as a great manager by his mates in the press aswell.
