Me too, but it's just papering over some of the cracks.
Glazers out, that's the key.
Any win would paper over the cracks. I don't think anyone thinks we can turn up and suddenly we're the Barcelona team of a decade ago.

Actually, Jenas does. Kept sounding like he was in disbelief that Man Utd weren't playing fast attacking football. Idiot.

I was generally pleased with the effort from a lot more players. Though Antony was shocking all round. Thought Wan Bissaka looked very good.

Interesting game. Havertz wipes out the Newcastle player, gets away with a yellow and Newcastle get 3 yellow cards. Good tactic in a game where players aren't allowed to talk to ref now, or get emotional when their mate is on receiving end of a dirty challenge.

Then Bruno elbows Arsenal player in face, but I guess you can elbow people in head now. Studs aren't showing after all. Later he runs to push Rice high in chest, his hands rise into his neck. Red card if Casemiro does it, but nothing in this situation. Not even a yellow.

It's a funny old game these days.

Your manager has spent over £400 million. For that I'd be expecting fast attacking football. Or at the very least a clear idea of how they're trying to play. At the minute there's no identity or style of play that is easy to see. If I was a Utd fan I'd be furious at the absolute dross that is being served up week in, week out, especially if I was looking at how Man City, Spurs, Brighton etc are playing. Utd are an embarrassment at the minute.

Newcastle players can’t complain they have been told not to moan at the ref.

VAR to blame for the forearm smash. How’s that not red.

They are, but I still didn't expect to suddenly see fast attacking football today.

Also, ten Hags job is to manage and coach a team of players. He isn't a scout. And he shouldn't have time to go scouting Europe for talent. He may well give an opinion on what players he likes if asked by club, but I doubt he is going to know all the exciting prospects in all corners of the world.

So, if the club are going to Ten Hag to ask what players he wants, and basically using him as the chief scout, shame on the club.

Of course they are to blame, that is why I said it was a good tactic by Havertz. The rules of game don't allow players to talk to ref, so take advantage by winding Newcastle players up by wiping one of them out

Managers at that level watch football on tap. They know all of the players out there, will be watching clips of action put together by their scouting team whenever required. Ten Haag will know exactly what players are out there, who he wants, who will fit his plan. To thing he doesn't is just bizarre imo. Same for all managers at top clubs. He doesn't manage in glorious isolation.
